![The German embassy in Moscow once again called on Russia to end the war. In return, Russia called them "Nazi propagandists", jeered that the German ambassador's car drives on gas, and blamed Berlin for waging "an aggressive war" against Russia. ◾️On July 6, a video was published at the Facebook page of the German embassy in Russia. In it, Lena Hillmeier, head of the press office and second secretary at the German embassy in Russia, offered an solution to Russia's fuel problems: stop Russia's aggressive war against Ukraine. ◾️A week later, the German ambassador was summoned to Russia's foreign affairs ministry. He was told that "The slide of German agitprop's information and communications efforts into the style of the worst Nazi propaganda practices is immoral and provokes historically conditioned rejection and outrage among broad sections of the population in our country. At the same time, we were pleased to learn that the German ambassador will soon be returning home in a gasoline-powered car following the completion of his official mission." Zakharova also commented that "we [Russia] agree that it's time Berlin end its aggressive war through the hands of the Kyiv regime." She suggested that "concerned German diplomats" use public transportation. ◾️The German embassy reacted: "Today, Ambassador Alexander Graf Lambsdorff was summoned to the Russian Ministry of Foreign Affairs. During the meeting, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova criticized the publications of the German Embassy in Moscow, claiming they touch on "painful issues" for the Russian population. The summons was prompted by a widely viewed video from the Embassy about the fuel crisis in Russia caused by Russia's military aggression against Ukraine. The video calls on Russia to end the war, reflecting the well-known position of the German government and a demand for Russia repeatedly made by Germany and the EU. Attempts to obstruct the publication of the Embassy's materials, the content of which is factual, will be futile. The Embassy will continue to advocate for an end to the monstrous, aggressive war against Ukraine and to report on its consequences."
