This was only 50 years after WW2. Many of these people had fathers and uncles who served in the Wehrmacht, Kriegsmarine, and Luftwaffe. Must have hit very close to home.

Weird how there was no movies made on the Communist Soviets gulags.

My favorite Holocaust movie is Roman Polanski's "The Pianist". It will definitely make you cry when the Nazi hears Spielman playing the piano. Roman Polanski drugged and raped little girls before he made that movie. He also sent the Manson Family to murder his pregnant wife.
