🇩🇪Germany is making it easier for asylum seekers to work after just 3 months!! Meanwhile in the UK we force asylum seekers to be dependent on the state for the long term, costing us more, damaging integration & wasting potential🤷‍♀️

Oh, & no one cares about Reform's latest policy re-announcement timed to distract from Richard Tice's dodgy tax affairs, either 😅

You want them to compete against all the unemployed youngsters trying to get into workforce?

you'd rather pay to support them to do nothing? the economy is not a zero-sum game, yknow - people create jobs through their work too.

Deport them to Germany then. We shouldn’t be giving them anything other than a tent , a sleeping bag and a soup kitchen. Ideally they should be straight on a plane back to where they came from

I was brought up to respect others, listen to them and give them the chance to state their case, and we have taught our girls to do the same. However, I can't help loving your 'no one cares' interruptions because we've heard the same old crap spouted by Tice et all all too often!

Germany is thinking of forcibly expelling 1,200,000 Syrian asylum seekers and has already started exporting criminals back there. Something of a mixed signal going on there.

And Germany is also going its best to reduce the amount of immigrants as is most of Europe. Never mind under you bunch of fools and the Greens, they can all come here and continue in the ruination of the country and our females !

Your intentions are good but we can't let un documented, un vetted men onto the streets (they tend to abuse or rape women). They are illegal and have broken the law coming here. They should be deported immediately. If these people want to come here, do it legally!!

They are not here to work they have been sent to replace the British, with promises of free money and housing while they do it and you liberals are aiding and abetting, and the sad reality is when liberals destroy Britain they will be first to try and run away

As if asylum seekers will work in the normal economy but instead work in the black economy.

Stop all benefits, housing them, clothing them they would soon stop coming over..UK is a soft touch so they come here for a free all expenses holiday

That would be amazing, unemployment is through the roof so what a great idea it would be to flood the jobs market with cheap labour. Absolutely amazing idea.

Germany also deports failed asylum seekers quickly without umpteen appeals. So, yes, something we could learn.

No one cares what Germany is doing, doesn’t change a thing here. We have let legal migrants work, how did integration go then, how much money was saved by low skilled migrants working, how much potential unrealised? Badly, none and none.

We should be defending our borders so that they don't invade and quickly expelling those that get to shore. All muslims legally here should also be deported.

why not make full use of their potential and let some live with you and pay for them yourself then?

🚨ASYLUM SEEKERS DESERVE MORE MONEY AND BETTER HOUSING🚨 Senedd members urged the Government to give asylum seekers more money and better housing. In a statement titled "Refugee Week: Wales a Nation of Sanctuary", Julie James said she was "frustrated" the request was ignored. The requests, made in 2018, provide further clarity on the purpose of the Nation of Sanctuary policy. James confirmed Welsh Government "advocated for increasing financial support for asylum seekers awaiting decisions, additional money for local authorities to support asylum seekers in their area and improved asylum accommodation standards". James condemned the Government for failing to increase the money paid to asylum seekers. "Unfortunately, to say the least, the UK Government does not appear to have incorporated our recommendations in the design of their forthcoming asylum accommodation contracts or significantly increased financial support in the asylum system," she said. "It is no secret that we are often frustrated by the UK Government's decisions in relation to asylum and migration matters," she added. James also criticised "negative effects" of what she considered hardline UK Government policies on asylum, and confirmed she planned to intervene. "We are continuing to consider improvements that we can make to support those seeking sanctuary, including looking at extending eligibility for education grants and concessionary transport to asylum seekers," she said. A request to ease the restrictions on asylum seekers' access to public money was also made. James claimed this was essential to integration and urged the Home Office "not to undermine this intention by placing Welsh Government funding streams on the list of prohibited public funds in the immigration rules". James' statement was preceded by a performance by "Oasis", a Welsh Government funded choir for asylum seekers. She urged colleagues to demonstrate to them that "Wales, a small nation, punches above its weight when it comes to providing sanctuary". Senedd members have, in the past few weeks, placed significant emphasis on the term "integration", claiming this is the real purpose of the Nation of Sanctuary policy. Yet their approach to integration, of giving more money and better housing to asylum seekers, will have the effect of encouraging more to come. The policy must be scrapped.
