Feminists have played that word game for many decades ("you're not a woman therefore you know nothing about what it's like to be a woman. You must accept everything I say"). It's idiotic: 1. By that logic she can't say anything about what it's like to be a white person, and must accept anything white people say about being white. 2. And then let's say that over the course of 10 years a white person gets to know countless black people and becomes friends with some. And then this black girl comes along and says things that are totally disconnected from what every other black person has said. Must he still play dumb? Must he pretend this is the first black person he has ever met? Blank slate, starting from scratch? And then what if, after the conversation with this one black girl, he goes on to talk with another black person. Blank slate again, like he's never met a black person?
