I honestly hate having to make tweets like this, but the pure hypocrisy in this fandom has crossed every line! Major BTS fanbases stay dead silent without dropping a single statement, while this disgusting behavior from Jiminas is being completely romanticized all over the timeline This lack of respect is absolutely UNACCEPTABLE. Since when is seeing healthy, happy guys, interacting with each other on stage and trying to give their absolute best to the fans considered a problem? You guys are literally romanticizing mass hate trains against Taehyung, Seokjin, and Jungkook just because they’re actually enjoying the tour and having fun? Are you really that miserable? Apparently, for these Jiminas, a concert is only "good" when the members are collapsing from exhaustion on stage and needing oxygen masks from overexertion. Is THAT what you pray to see? Stop romanticizing this harassment and bitter behavior. What’s happening on stage is a group of healthy, happy guys enjoying their time with fans and each other. Album of the day. What I admired most about Prince's later work was his ability to churn out contemporary music that didn't stray too far from his retro Minneapolis funk roots. While he was miles away from his creative peak by this point, he still made worthy music that more or less showcased his incredible pop craftsmanship. This is greatly evident on solid late-career gems, such as his 31st (yes, he was that prolific) studio album, 2006's 3121, which was released 20 years ago today. Similar to its successful predecessor, 2004's Musicology, 3121 was consciously helmed as a radio-friendly, mainstream release meant to revisit facets of his past glories while whetting the appetites of the large pop following he won over again. Only this one went a few steps ahead of Musicology, thanks to the Purple One stretching out and toying with Latin-tinged numbers ("Te Amo Corazón," "The Dance," "Get on the Boat"), mininalist, futuristic funk ("Black Sweat," "Love"), optimistic love songs ("Beautiful, Loved, and Blessed"), guitar-laden rockers ("Fury"), and bedroom burners ("Satisfied," "Incense and Candles"). It's the kind of album a veteran makes when they have nothing left to prove. And thanks to Prince, it never fails to be an engaging portrait of a master at the top of his game, making well-crafted music in the fourth decade of his storied career and having fun doing it.

When you start digging into how dumb is, the rabbit hole goes deep… In this recent clip, Beff is claiming that humanity's ultimate goal should be to trash all resources as fast as possible — slash and burn the entire cosmos to make thermodynamic entropy number go up — BUT that's okay because the process of building a universe-scale furnace will supposedly be precisely the process by which we'll achieve our moral values to the fullest! Seriously, he's claiming that these two objective functions are functionally equivalent: 1. Grow our flourishing civilization beyond earth and fill the universe with life, love, happiness, wonder, creativity, discovery, art, humor, cooperation 2. Turn every ordered configuration of atoms into chaos in the shortest possible time Watch 3:02 in the video to hear it from him: “It's, you know, the same reason life exists. It's much better to conserve and strategically use free energy to secure more free energy, and keep growing, and have some order, rather than just like, burn all in one go and have chaos, right?” Read that again. That's the load-bearing argument that licenses him to equate claims #1 and #2 above. He's saying: Since life on Earth built beautiful complexity while using up the sun's energy, we can just go ahead and extrapolate that, into me leading a movement to extinguish all usable energy sources as rapidly as possible. Earth teaches us that the faster we extinguish all usable energy sources, the better we'll grow a civilization even more flourishing than the one on Earth! Too bad that if you think about it for 5 seconds, the fly in the ointment of his logic is that optimal free-energy-dissipation strategies like "chuck all the matter into a black hole" don't conveniently dovetail with sane goals like growing our flourishing civilization to fill the universe with life and love. Beff's Effective Accelerationism movement successfully got thousands of people to put "e/acc" in their profile without checking too much into the doctrine. His core claim that objectives #1 and #2 above are equivalent — a claim which is FACTUALLY FALSE if you ask any physicist — somehow never gets questioned (or even flagged as questionable) by the people who have a chance to interview Beff. One podcast after another sees fit to wager their show's credibility on a guest who can dazzle listeners with smart-sounding jargon for hours, as long as no one dares to ask him why his movement's central claim is as factually false as Jonah and the Whale. But hey, if you don't ask your acolytes to swallow a factually false claim as part of your core doctrine, are you really leading a new religion or “hyperstition” 🙄? No, you're just like the rest of us jockeying for crumbs of AI venture capital without the reality-distortion benefit of a social media demagogue halo. Berkshire is where she was born and raised, those woods are woods she walked with her family when she was just another country girl with dreams and aspirations❤️ Berkshire is where her parents still live in Buckleburry Manour; where her sister Pippa and her family also chose to live and where her brother James also lives with his new family. Therefore, for the final iteration of her Mother Nature series, Catherine was back to her roots, the Middleton family fold in Berkshire, to discuss for the first time the deep feeling of “Fear” that she experienced during her Cancer journey and “the tears” she shed❤️‍🩹 That agonising Fear is very familiar to anyone who has experienced Cancer or who has a loved one who has experienced Cancer. It is a deep fear that brings torment into our very core: The fear of being separated forever from our loved ones, the fear of dying too soon and realising that there is a lot we put to tomorrow that now, we might never get to do💔 This is a deeply personal aspect of Cancer that Catherine had yet to discuss throughout her cancer ordeal. Thus, in an unusual move, Prime Minister Jonas Gahr Stoere has urged Mette-marit to come forward and explain the many emails she and Epstein sent to each other between 2011 and 2014; that is AFTER his conviction as a known Child sex offender and more than a decade AFTER her marriage to Crown Prince Haakon🔥 This interview is the third attempt by Mette-marit and the Norwegian Monarchy to make things blow over, and goodness me, some people are simply not meant to be put in front of the camera... First of all, she is a pale blond with a stern face naturally. Why is she is dressed in full black for an interview that is suppose to endear her to the public? A Watch and Investment Story I have been a watch enthusiast since my dad got me interested in watches decades ago. About three years ago, I was in London and walked by a watch boutique called Bremont. I stepped into the store, fell in love with the watches, thought they were fairly priced if not somewhat inexpensive for the quality, and bought a number of them as gifts for friends and one for myself. As I was completing the purchases, I asked the store manager: ‘Who owns the company?’ He said, “The English brothers” – Nick and Giles English – and then he proceeded to tell me Bremont’s origin story that begins with a tragic plane crash of a 1942 Harvard trainer aircraft (an American plane purchased by the British beginning in 1938) which killed their father and almost Nick. In their ‘What does not kill me makes me stronger’ new world, Nick and Giles were inspired to pursue their dream of creating and building a British watch company, and Bremont thereafter was born. The manager gave me their contact information and I sent an email congratulating the brothers on the company, the brand, and the watches. I also offered to invest and help the business grow. Sometime later, I did a Zoom with Nick. He explained that my timing was good, as a long-time investor in the company was looking to sell some of their shares. Within a couple of months, an affiliate of mine invested coinciding with the purchase by a legacy Bremont shareholder of primary shares to provide the company with additional growth capital. I thereafter bought more shares of stock from other selling shareholders and I invested a substantial amount of additional growth capital in the company just this past week. Affiliates of mine and The Bremont Long Term Trust, a trust I recently established, now own 63% of the company. Bremont is a luxury British watch company that produces adventure and exploration watches. About one-fourth of Bremont’s sales are to the military, where the company has made custom-designed watches for more than 500 British, U.S., and other American ally squadrons around the world. While today there are very few British watch companies, the British actually created the watch industry – Rolex, notably, was a British company before it moved to Switzerland – with many of the most important technical innovations and complications of the industry having been invented in England in the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries. For the watch industry, the Swiss can be thought of like the Japanese of the U.S. auto industry, where in the early days, the Swiss made cheap imitations of British watches, but eventually by the 20th century, came to dominate the industry. For compliance reasons, I have been limited in my personal investments to private situations, principally startups, real estate, and private equity, directly and through funds. Because of my personal time limitations, I spend very little time on these investments, but through a combination of good luck, investment experience, and a good eye for talent, my collective private investment outcomes have been excellent, with a few huge successes outweighing some disappointments. I have always viewed my non-Pershing Square investments as an opportunity for learning and insights that I can apply to my day job. For example, I have found that closely following the venture investment world has provided important insights into disruptive technologies and companies that can soon become serious threats to even the largest and best capitalized public companies. Experiences at small companies also very often apply to big ones, so in my hobby of making personal investments, my returns have been both financial and educational, from my successes and from my failures. Other than tennis, I don’t have any real hobbies, but perhaps my personal investing qualifies as my second passion. To date, I have been a passive investor in Bremont, but perhaps the activist in me caused me to step forward, to recently seize the opportunity to materially increase my investment in the company, and become the non-executive chairman of a newly refreshed board. I don’t expect my chairman role at Bremont to take much of my time as it is a private company of limited scale, but I do expect my experience here will provide some helpful learnings and insights. I also thought it would be fun, interesting, and rewarding to take the X community along for the ride – at least those that are interested in watches, operations, and investing. I intend to provide periodic updates of the company’s progress on X, about our successes, our struggles, and our failures – so that we can learn and have some fun together. Think of my periodic updates as “Drive to Survive,” but for watches on X. “Time to Succeed”? You can probably come up with a better name for the series, and perhaps then I should reach out to Netflix to see if they are interested (while holding back my tears as I have watched the stock massively appreciate since our exit!). In the modern era, building an independent watch company into a major company, let alone one in the U.K., has rarely if ever occurred. The watch world is littered with many such failed attempts so it is far from guaranteed that we will succeed in building a profitable and sustainable company, let alone a major independent player. My Investment History to Date with Bremont Prior to my investment in the company, Nick and Giles had taken Bremont to a reasonable scale for an independently owned watch company at about £21 million in revenues with a modest operating loss, which is an incredible accomplishment for two young men with no watch industry experience. Nick and Giles accomplishment is particularly significant in an extremely competitive industry characterized by well capitalized incumbents that control many of the top brands, e.g., Richemont, Swatch, LVMH, as well dominant, independently owned companies like Rolex, Patek Philippe, Audemars and Piguet, and a few others. Despite their progress, both Nick and Giles and the other shareholders agreed that bringing in an executive with watch industry experience would help to take the company to the next level. Shortly after I invested, we hired a search firm to identify and ultimately recruit our new CEO, Davide Cerrato, who joined in May of 2023. Davide’s entire career has been spent in the industry at Panerai, Tudor – where he famously created the Black Bay, Montblanc, and with a brief stent at HYT. Davide in turn hired other industry notables to round out the executive suite, and then the team went to work with the ambitious goal of transforming Bremont into a global industry leader. Bremont has some important competitive advantages. First and most importantly, the watches are handsome, extremely well designed, and overengineered. Davide’s team has materially upgraded materials (for example, the company now uses 904L steel for all of its steel watches – the same as Rolex – unprecedented for watches at Bremont’s price point), parts, and movements from what was already a good standard to a level comparable to watches at multiples of the price. The watches are developed, designed, manufactured, and serviced in Henley-on-Thames using principally Swiss movements. While making its own movement is an aspirational goal for Bremont, the Swiss still make the highest quality movements so that is what Bremont uses. Bremont has a unique brand story and heritage, particularly for a 23-year-old company, with two decades of credibility in war zones and air combat missions with the best war fighters and military pilots in the world. Bremont also makes a limited number of watches, around 10,000 per year, compared with more than 1.2 million for Rolex and 70,000 for Patek Philippe, and scarcity drives value in luxury goods. The combination of battlefield credibility, rarity, quality and a fair price make Bremont an extremely attractive alternative to the typical Rolex or Patek, which everyone seems to be wearing in my industry, a ubiquity in my view that loses its luster over time. Over the past 23 months, Davide and team have redesigned and focused Bremont’s range around three core offerings in Land, Sea, and Air – the Terra Nova, the Supermarine, and the Altitude – while upgrading materials, movements, and quality, updating the logo to reflect the new Land and Sea offerings (Bremont was previously perceived to only be an aviation brand), and dramatically improving manufacturing and service. The company has extended its warranty from three to five years on its new watches reflecting these improvements. Bremont benefits from having overinvested in its spectacular 35,000 square foot combined headquarters, manufacturing facility, and showroom in Henley-on-Thames, aka “The Wing” (email [email protected] to arrange a superb tour), with the capacity for substantial growth without the requirement for incremental capital investment. Lastly, Bremont now has a well-capitalized long-term major owner who would like to see Bremont become a big success and achieve its vision of returning watchmaking to the UK, and who is not looking for dividends or a liquidity event in this lifetime. I have learned over time that permanent capital and a truly long-term orientation are enormous competitive advantages for any business, and they should be very helpful here. With respect to the product, later this morning in Geneva at Watches and Wonders, the industry’s most important trade show, the company is launching its new Altitude aviation line, which builds from the company’s highly successful Martin Baker offerings. The company will also be introducing some complicated new watches including two unique, jumping hour models, a 12-piece new tourbillion model (the company's first 30-piece tourbillion watch sold out shortly after its launch last year), and the company’s first perpetual calendar (limited to 50 pieces). I WENT TO THE GAME ALONE. 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿⚽️ Here’s my experience: Because of my job, I’m lucky enough to be used to travelling by myself, so buying a single ticket and flying down to Miami didn’t feel that daunting. But I was still cautious. The 02:45 alarm call on Saturday wasn’t much fun and then I managed to miss the exit off the highway to the airport as I was singing ‘It’s Coming Home’ at the top of my voice in the car and had to rush to get through security to the gate! ☺️ I was surprised to have found a direct flight to Miami from Tulsa that got me in at 09:00, so it was an Uber to the Hyatt Place hotel at the airport who kindly let me have breakfast and get in a room at 11:00 to shower and get ready. Flawless. That’s the word I’d use for the organisation of transportation and logistics in Miami. Just flawless. A $15 Uber ride took me to the Martin Luther King train station (one of 4 pick-up points) where lines and lines of yellow school buses stood, each taking 50 or so ticketed fans the 11 miles to the game. Of course England and Norway shirts dominated, but it really felt like a carnival of football with tops from various countries and clubs to be seen here and there. And, man, was it hot!! As we jumped off the bus, in front of us hydration stations had been set up. Complete with electrolyte powder to mix with the iced water from huge tanks. And did I sweat a lot in the next 8 hours! So having downed a few litres of water it was a half mile walk to the stadium. Police everywhere, roads closed, huge energy, fantastic atmosphere. (Lots of locals stood at the end of the driveway with huge signs trying to sell their drive as a parking space for the night. What entrepreneurs!) I didn’t touch alcohol due to the heat - but the bars and food outlets were packed outside the stadium as a carnival atmosphere prevailed. Before heading to my seat I was able to meet a few Albion fans (Sam Harte, Ian Harte, Nick Blanco, Derek Chapman et al) which was brilliant. There we all were, 3500 miles from the AMEX! 💙🤍 I’d only bought a seat on Thursday and had a huge stoke of luck when I found it was bang in the middle of the England end. And what a fantastic group. Everyone introducing themselves to each other and sharing stories of the footballing summer so far. Passionate. Knowledgable. And just salt of the earth characters. As for the game? Well, the chanting was incessant, orchestrated by the England drummer and trumpeter how stood just a few rows behind me. We were together. We were united. And, call me old-fashioned, but it felt very healthy; it felt special. And I felt so lucky to be part of it. The game happened, you’ve seen it, no need for me to linger on that. But at the end there was a lad who was just in tears of joy. Must’ve been in his early 20s and it was clear how much England meant to him. He just couldn’t stop! It was pretty moving to witness. I manage to grab a couple of England jerseys on the way out (only XXXL left, but that’s what Mrs Bard asked for anyway as seems the fashion) and then it was a walk back to the buses in the oppressive heat and under the blinding floodlights of the walkways as random England chants erupted from various pockets of the 1000s of us walking from the stadium. The atmosphere was electric. It was a 90 min wait for a bus but the stewards did a great job and I was back in my hotel to watch the last few minutes of Argentina beating the Swiss in extra time. You know, I’m not a fan of FIFA, and despite football playing a huge part in my life, I was a little cynical about the World Cup in the build up. But as I left the stadium last night, the world felt a better place. It’s been an amazing tournament, but not because of the FIFA suits, but because of the fans. It occurred to me that, just for a while, because of football, division and politics has been replaced with humanity and wholesomeness. And that’s just what the world needs right now. ⚽️❤️

EXCLUSIVE: Former Chatham-Kent Deputy Police Chief Passes Away in Hospital After 7 Days of Medical Horror. The Canadian Independent traveled to Chatham, Ontario, to interview Clare's wife, Evelien Wiersma, and share the story of 67-year-old Clare Wiersma. Clare served his community first as a police officer, eventually rising to the position of deputy chief of police for Chatham-Kent. Upon retirement, he remained actively engaged within his community, working with his son building homes. Described by his wife as healthy and fit, Clare had very minor arthritis and was not on any medication. The events unfolding from the time Clare was taken by ambulance to the hospital, where he remained for seven days before passing away, can only be described as shocking. On December 23, 2021, Clare's daughter called for an ambulance after her father collapsed at home. He exhibited symptoms of a fever, dry cough, and mild confusion. According to Clare's wife, he had tested positive for Covid-19 days prior and was unvaccinated. When ambulance personnel arrived at the home and inquired about vaccination status for Clare and his family, Evelien responded and said they were unvaccinated, one paramedic allegedly rolled their eyes and muttered something under their breath. Upon arrival at the hospital, Clare's 722-page medical records indicated a fever, low blood pressure, dry cough, and slight confusion. Clare was later admitted to the hospital and, two days later, transferred to the ICU solely due to a slight increase in his oxygen requirements, as per his medical records. On December 25th, while in the ICU, Clare had a conversation with his wife and kids over FaceTime. His wife, Evelien, reported that everything seemed fine during the conversation. Clare was alert, and they chatted and prayed together. However, Clare mentioned that hospital staff were not providing him with information or a prognosis. Evelien claimed that doctors and nurses never initiated updates about Clare, and she always had to inquire with the hospital for information, and even then that was a struggle. On the same day, according to Clare's medical records, he received a single dose of Tocilizumab, a drug used to treat critically ill Covid-19 patients, despite Clare not showing signs of critical illness. The drug has severe side effects, including causing serious or fatal infections, liver problems, dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Health Canada has issued a warning about the drug, stating it can cause serious drug-induced liver injury requiring a transplant. According to ACTEMRA’s own website, it says the drug “changes the way your immune system works. This can make you more likely to get infections or make any current infection worse.” The evening of December 25th and the following day, December 26th, marked a downturn in Clare's condition. He transitioned from being alert to being intubated and ventilated, receiving numerous different drugs until his passing on December 30, 2021, at 11:30 am, all evident in his medical records. Evelien states that there was no consent given for her husband to be intubated or ventilated, and there is no mention of consent in Clare's medical records either. Evelien says she received a phone call from the hospital on December 30th and was advised that her husband wasn't doing well, urging her to hurry to the hospital. Upon arrival, when Evelien entered Clare's room and saw him hooked up to all the machines, she fainted. Evelien was then taken to the emergency department. A little while later, Clare would pass away without his wife and children by his side. A detailed examination of Clare's medical records revealed a “medication administration record” consisting of 131 pages, with hundreds of instances of various medications, including fentanyl, numerous other highly controlled and addictive medications, anti-blood clotting drugs, heart-related drugs, sedatives, paralyzing drugs, and various other drugs that had been administered or injected into Clare mainly from December 25th to December 30th, the day he passed away. Evelien Wiersma asserted that multiple doctors reviewed Clare's 722-page medical records after his death and concluded that he would be alive today if treated for sepsis and administered the necessary antibiotics. Bacterial and viral infections, like pneumonia, can lead to sepsis. Clare did show signs of having sepsis, such as fever, confusion or disorientation, and shortness of breath upon arrival at the hospital. Additionally, Clare exhibited low blood pressure, which can also signal the beginning stages of septic shock. It certainly would not have hurt for Clare to be given antibiotics, and it is very possible he would be here with us today had the doctors opted to, at the very least, try antibiotics. Instead, they waited three hours before he died to give him two antibiotics. Evelien felt it necessary to share Clare's story in the hope that others will speak up and speak out. She reveals having two other friends who have lost loved ones under similar circumstances, emphasizing that she is not alone in experiencing what happened to her beloved husband. Clare leaves behind his wife, Evelien Wiersma, of 45 years, along with their four children, 26 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Joining the Chatham Kent police in May 1980, he worked his way up to deputy chief before retiring in April 2012. In the last 10 years of his retirement before his passing, Clare was well-known in the community for assisting the vulnerable. Not ready to fully retire, he co-founded a construction company with his son, building homes together. An active individual, Clare enjoyed kayaking, boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, and waterskiing.

According to Clare's wife, he had tested positive for Covid-19 days prior and was unvaccinated. When ambulance personnel arrived at the home and inquired about vaccination status for Clare and his family, Evelien responded and said they were unvaccinated, one paramedic allegedly rolled their eyes and muttered something under their breath. Upon arrival at the hospital, Clare's 722-page medical records indicated a fever, low blood pressure, dry cough, and slight confusion. Clare was later admitted to the hospital and, two days later, transferred to the ICU solely due to a slight increase in his oxygen requirements, as per his medical records. On December 25th, while in the ICU, Clare had a conversation with his wife and kids over FaceTime. His wife, Evelien, reported that everything seemed fine during the conversation. Clare was alert, and they chatted and prayed together. However, Clare mentioned that hospital staff were not providing him with information or a prognosis. Evelien claimed that doctors and nurses never initiated updates about Clare, and she always had to inquire with the hospital for information, and even then that was a struggle. On the same day, according to Clare's medical records, he received a single dose of Tocilizumab, a drug used to treat critically ill Covid-19 patients, despite Clare not showing signs of critical illness. The drug has severe side effects, including causing serious or fatal infections, liver problems, dry cough, fever, and shortness of breath. Health Canada has issued a warning about the drug, stating it can cause serious drug-induced liver injury requiring a transplant. According to ACTEMRA’s own website, it says the drug “changes the way your immune system works. This can make you more likely to get infections or make any current infection worse.” The evening of December 25th and the following day, December 26th, marked a downturn in Clare's condition. He transitioned from being alert to being intubated and ventilated, receiving numerous different drugs until his passing on December 30, 2021, at 11:30 am, all evident in his medical records. Evelien states that there was no consent given for her husband to be intubated or ventilated, and there is no mention of consent in Clare's medical records either. Evelien says she received a phone call from the hospital on December 30th and was advised that her husband wasn't doing well, urging her to hurry to the hospital. Upon arrival, when Evelien entered Clare's room and saw him hooked up to all the machines, she fainted. Evelien was then taken to the emergency department. A little while later, Clare would pass away without his wife and children by his side. A detailed examination of Clare's medical records revealed a “medication administration record” consisting of 131 pages, with hundreds of instances of various medications, including fentanyl, numerous other highly controlled and addictive medications, anti-blood clotting drugs, heart-related drugs, sedatives, paralyzing drugs, and various other drugs that had been administered or injected into Clare mainly from December 25th to December 30th, the day he passed away. Evelien Wiersma asserted that multiple doctors reviewed Clare's 722-page medical records after his death and concluded that he would be alive today if treated for sepsis and administered the necessary antibiotics. Bacterial and viral infections, like pneumonia, can lead to sepsis. Clare did show signs of having sepsis, such as fever, confusion or disorientation, and shortness of breath upon arrival at the hospital. Additionally, Clare exhibited low blood pressure, which can also signal the beginning stages of septic shock. It certainly would not have hurt for Clare to be given antibiotics, and it is very possible he would be here with us today had the doctors opted to, at the very least, try antibiotics. Instead, they waited three hours before he died to give him two antibiotics. Evelien felt it necessary to share Clare's story in the hope that others will speak up and speak out. She reveals having two other friends who have lost loved ones under similar circumstances, emphasizing that she is not alone in experiencing what happened to her beloved husband. Clare leaves behind his wife, Evelien Wiersma, of 45 years, along with their four children, 26 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. Joining the Chatham Kent police in May 1980, he worked his way up to deputy chief before retiring in April 2012. In the last 10 years of his retirement before his passing, Clare was well-known in the community for assisting the vulnerable. Not ready to fully retire, he co-founded a construction company with his son, building homes together. An active individual, Clare enjoyed kayaking, boating, hiking, fishing, hunting, and waterskiing.
