Angry customers returned to the pump and alleged adulteration or excessive ethanol in the fuel. When petrol was drained from affected vehicles on the spot, witnesses claimed the colour varied from tank to tank. The pump management denied adulteration but quietly refunded the money of affected customers and said high ethanol content may have caused the issue in some vehicles. District Supply Officer Vinod Tiwari confirmed the pump has been sealed and an investigation ordered. Action will follow based on findings. Refunding money is not accountability.
