🔥 DOUGLAS MURRAY CLASHES WITH BBC IN TENSE SHOWDOWN OVER ISLAM IN THE UK Murray Schools BBC Political Editor Nick Watt on the Dangers of Unchecked Islamic Extremism ☪️ Douglas Murray calmly but precisely dismantles BBC Newsnight’s Nick Watt who challenges him on calling for “less Islam” in Britain due to the threat of Islamic extremism. BBC: “Surely ‘less Islam’ means less Muslims? Less Sajid Javid, less Sadiq Khan… anyone who’s a Muslim?” Murray: “It would also mean less people like the Abedi family. Wouldn’t it?” BBC: “Yes, less extremists, but you’re talking about less Islam - that is Muslim people.” Murray (calmly and bluntly): “Just bear with me, because I know better than you what I think.” He continues: “This country has had a wildly stupid and lax immigration policy for decades. We allowed in people like the Abedi family, a family of jihadists. One of their sons, Salman Abedi, aged 22, killed 22 young girls at the Manchester Arena with a suicide bomb. Why were the Abedi family even here?” “Jihadist extremism comes from Islam. If even 1%, 5%, or 15% of Muslims follow that strain, you’ve got a hell of a problem. The more people you have from a faith that hasn’t solved the extremism in its midst, the more extremism you will have.” “You don’t get this from Catholics, Methodists, Quakers or Anglicans.” When the presenter tried to interrupt and accused him of stereotyping, Murray hit back: “Of course it’s not stereotyping! This is a dated conversation. Nobody is as slow in learning as the British media and political class on this issue.” “Why do we have thousands of people marching through British cities every weekend supporting death cults that would murder Jews and the rest of us? That’s the question you and Newsnight should be answering.” Unflinching truth. Take a few minutes to watch the full clip. It’s well worth it.

YOUR LASAGNE WAS UP TO 100% HORSE AND NOBODY TOLD YOU In 2013 you could grab a Findus lasagne for dinner and unknowingly eat a horse. An actual horse, DNA confirmed, up to 100 percent horse in some batches. It started in January that year when tests found horse DNA in frozen burgers on shelves at Tesco, Lidl, Aldi Stores UK, Iceland Foods ❄️ and Dunnes Stores. One Tesco burger came back at 29 percent horse. Nobody in that supply chain apparently noticed the difference between a cow and a horse for months. Then Findus admitted its beef lasagne tested between 60 and 100 percent horse. The UK's Food Standards Agency Food Standards Agency confirmed it. Findus blamed its supplier Comigel in Luxembourg. Comigel blamed French meat firm Spanghero. Spanghero blamed Romanian abattoirs. The Romanian government said its slaughterhouses never even dealt with Comigel directly and had done nothing wrong. Everyone pointed at everyone else while the horse kept crossing borders undetected the whole time. Follow the actual trail and it gets better. Dutch trader Willy Selten and a company called Draap Trading, registered in Cyprus and run out of Belgium, bought cheap Romanian horsemeat, shipped it to the Netherlands, relabelled it as beef, then sold it on to processors who fed it into your ready meals. One man involved, Jan Fasen, had already been convicted for the exact same fraud in 2007. He just did it again, bigger, across more countries. This went beyond mislabelling. France confirmed some of the horse carcasses in the food chain had likely been treated with phenylbutazone, a drug not meant for human consumption. So this was a food safety problem too, one that took years and a criminal trial to even get acknowledged properly. It took until 2019 for Spanghero's former director to actually get convicted and jailed in Paris. That is 6 years for an operation French officials said ran across 13 countries and roughly 28 companies. The supermarkets pulled the products, apologised, and moved on. The system that let a criminal network swap horse for beef across an entire continent for months without a single check barely changed. Food fraud units got a bit more funding. Audits got a bit less predictable. That was largely it. Next time a company tells you it takes food safety extremely seriously, remember it took actual horse DNA in your dinner before anyone acted like it.
