It's such an exciting time to be an artist on the internet. We now have the technology to build out our worlds, in spaces we own, it is truly the age of ideas. I've built a new home for my projects here, and in advance of my next major release with Transient Labs on June 16th, I want to share what I've made with you all, and open a dialogue about how we can use these tools as artists to enhance the experience of making and sharing our art. This is an overview of davekrugman dot com (link in thread), specifically about new sites for Drip Drop and DRIVE, and to that end, I'll give a work from each project to someone who reshares this post. If you are an artist who is curious on how to build a site for yourself, I would be happy to help, I'm an open book, ask me in the comments below. There are so many tools to use- I mostly used Claude / Anthropic- and now we can literally speak our ideas into reality , the possibilities feel truly infinite, if you have curiosity, patience, and a bit of time to explore a new frontier. For too long, artists have had to build on the rented space of social platforms, and now it feels like we can really create sovereign spaces that we own and make ours with our unique vision. So for example, when we as a country elected this president, he decided in his infinite wisdom, that he would immediately allow his top campaign donor Elon Musk, to cut whole swaths of US government capacity based on nothing but Elon Musk’s own say so, and his gut feelings. So things that took decades if not generations to build up, some of these things the gold standard government capacity for the whole world, President Donald Trump just said hey, you’re my top campaign donor, as far as I’m concerned, that gives you the right to sledgehammer the US government to your heart’s content. I don’t care, you enjoy yourself. And that is how thousands of subject matter experts, and forest rangers and specialist lawyers, and prosecutors, and scientists, and and and, it’s how all these people lost their jobs and their careers in the US government. But it’s also how we as a country lost things like say a project that had been funded, that was shovel ready, expertly planned, much needed, ready to go, a project to build FIRE BREAKS in the Superior National Forest in Minnesota. Elon Musk and Donald Trump did not care enough or were not bright enough to understand what a project like that might conceivably be for, and so they [killed] it…Trump in his wisdom literally stopped funding last year for the shovel ready project to build fire breaks in the Superior National Forest in Minnesota, so there would be less to burn, so it would be EASIER to fight any fire that did break out…He and Elon Musk stopped the funding of that project and so now, the bill has come due. The Superior National Forest in Minnesota, as we speak, is on fire. Thank you DOGE. Thank you Donald Trump…”🙄🤦‍♀️
