Getting a little too real now: 3D cover-flow frontend, auto-fetched covers, synthesized menu sounds, L1+R1+touchpad to jump back to the menu, Vulkan renderer, up to 6x native. Still pushing it. (retro achievements+online functionality?) #PS5 #PCSX2 #PS2 #Homebrew #Vulkan

This is amazing, I think you should make an option for changing to 4X rendering, you are using 6X, but you are running it on a PS5 Pro, and 6X maybe won't work very well with some games on PS5 Base.

I will make a web UI to change those on the fly, I don't wanna pollute the UI with buttons and settings

@CiborgEc Just implement a separate settings tab in the app, but I feel like the base ps5 shouldn’t struggle with 6x ps2 if the pcsx2 port is utilizing JIT.

@mthsmelo_ I already did RetroAchievements in my vibecoded shit, if you want, I can share what is needed, and what works. For me it uses the original PS5 trophy notification alert, sound, has the correct achievement icon, description, name, and synchronizes well with RA

@mthsmelo_ don't users have to make an account so that the .db syncs with their games? but yea, add me on discord: sword.pdf

Impresionante... It's possible to do the same with the PS1 version (DuckStation)? This is incredibly good, all that's missing is network charging from Unraid 😂

A folder system should be added to the PS5. PS1, PS2, PS3, PS4, and PS5 games should be added to separate folders; we used to be able to add folders on the PS4.

Sure, but the idea of simplifying the appearance of Fortnite, the locker and the shop are all going in the exact opposite direction of simplicity. Equipping cosmetics takes double, if not triple the clicks. The UI is impractical and janky, not to mention the introduction of buttons and drop-down menus that were far easier to access previously. Selecting a skin to rotate it, preview it or even spin it around now requires clicking on it, which then applies it to your loadout. Previously this needed a confirm button so you could preview and choose skins, backblings etc without loosing your currently equipped on if you want to go back. Wraps are not included as part of a character's preset despite being completely relevant to the skin worn. Changing emotes, lobby tracks, and all cosmetics now means you have to back out and change tabs, something that could have previously been done on 1 page. The sectioned tabs make sense with new types like LEGO Kits, Cars, Instruments but there's no need to separate Character from Wraps, Emotes or Lobby. Archiving or Favoriting items can no longer be done in batches or quickly. Previously all you had to do was click once per cosmetic on the button but now you have to enter a drop down and select it for every individual item. Applying wraps to all slots now requires a drop down menu rather than simply clicking the button at the bottom. Swinging a pickaxe or redeploying a glider is near impossible to do and feels like more of a chore to actually accomplish with the drop-down menu. It overlays onto other items meaning as soon as it's clicked the menu vanishes and switches to another cosmetic before the animation can even begin. Cosmetics in the locker can be searched by seasons using "S1-17" but after S18+ they no longer filter. Entering the drop-down menu or right-clicking anything in the locker accidentally immediately takes you all the way back to your currently equipped item when exiting. The filter menu requires an "apply" button to be pressed rather than simply closing and applying when selecting one of the filters, taking longer and more clicks to simply find your recent items or remove a filter. The filter menu was also better as a side panel so you don't have to move your cursor to the center of the screen and back every single time. As a side panel it also allowed for more options to be displayed, whereas the current one requires a huge scroll bar to simply filter by favorite. The presets menu scroll wheel also zooms the skins in and out as you scroll up and down the list. Because of the randomize preset button, the list compared to when saving a preset is all moved up by 1, becoming disorientating to where the preset was in relation to the rows. The shop no longer displays item descriptions or set names on cosmetics - now requiring a click on each individual item when there is adequate space to do so. The new shop and locker appearance can be accustomed to, however, it NEEDS the basic functionality and user-friendly UI elements that the previous ones had. Simple buttons at the bottom to favorite, swing, redeploy and equip. Less tabs to switch between, less clicks required to complete simple tasks and less feeling like there's a battle against the UI itself just to equip the cosmetics you paid for. We appreciate the moves the renew the locker and shop, but in terms of functionality and user interaction, there is nothing we want more than the old one back or the old one's elements merged into the new appearance. Thank you.

HERMES AGENT VS OPENCLAW. a local ai onboarding flow test. a 3.9gb bonsai served on localhost, both agents upstream and latest, i point each one at the endpoint and watch which one even finds it. > hermes opens a provider menu, thirty plus options, local servers sitting right there next to the cloud ones, i hand it 127.0.0.1:8899, it verifies the endpoint, one model visible, auto-detects the model by name, bonsai-27b-q1_0, reads the context length straight off the server, saves it, and starts reasoning and firing real tool calls on my local model. no key. no friction. > openclaw has no menu. it goes hunting for a codex login, an openai key, finds none because there are none, prints no models available three times, defaults to openai/gpt-5.5, a cloud model it cannot reach, and dead ends on run auth login --provider openai. read that back. it asked me for an openai key. to run a model already running on my own machine. it never once looked at localhost. to be fair, openclaw can run local if you hand wire endpoint yourself. what it will not do is find the model already sitting on your box. hermes agent found it in one line. now the part i owe you. the auto-detect that just won, the model name read, the .gguf strip, the context length probe off the server, that is my code, it is in hermes agent main right now, authorship preserved, #2051 and #4218. the wizard fix that stops an agent from silently routing you to someone else's creds, the exact trap openclaw still falls into, mine too, #4210. i contribute to hermes agent, i told you that going in. one agent is built to talk to whatever you are running, the other is built to talk to a cloud api, so one found my model and ran it and the other asked me to log into openai. onboarding flow of both, mapped, below.

I spent 20 years architecting AAA game engines, going back to the PlayStation 1. I wrote all of that by hand. This one I did not. It is a stylized real time digital twin of the SF Bay Area, built from scratch in C++ and Vulkan. The geometry is real, the look is not. It is meant to read as a painted model of the Bay rather than a photo of it, because a photoreal copy of a place you can already see from a satellite is not worth building. The world is an 80 km square, about 6,400 km², and all of it is built from open data. USGS 3DEP 1 m lidar for the terrain. NOAA CoNED for the bay floor. USGS NHD for water. ESA WorldCover for land cover. OpenStreetMap for footprints and roads. That comes to 13 GB of streamed tiles, and 9.8 GB of it is terrain. Past the edge there is a 420 km coarse ring on Copernicus GLO-30, so the horizon does not end at a flat edge. Distant ridgelines bend down below it. There are 424,787 real building footprints in there, extruded procedurally, with heights off OSM tags and a plausibility gate that drops anything whose tagged height will not fit its own footprint. Across the whole 80 km box it rejects exactly 8 buildings, four of them towers carrying a bad height tag that used to extrude as needles over a derelict pier at Hunters Point. On top sit 41 landmarks at their real coordinates, authored by Fable as parametric Blender scripts rather than sculpted: Golden Gate, Transamerica, Coit, Sutro, Salesforce, the Ferry Building. Each one switches off the generated building underneath it. The simulation is the actual point. A 24 hour recording of real feeds plays back on a clock inside the app, at 1x up to 2000x. Caltrans PeMS for highway flow, 511 for Caltrain, OpenSky for flights, AIS for boats, METAR at SFO, OAK and SJC, and HRRR for weather. 165,356 samples across those 8 feeds. Cars spawn at the volume PeMS measured on that segment. Trains run the delays 511 reported. Planes fly the tracks OpenSky recorded. It is replay, not a live stream. Live polling is next and feeds the same clock, so it is a source swap rather than a rewrite. There is also a globe. You pick the Bay from orbit, fly down to the surface, and back out again. Reversed Z depth, HDR with a filmic tonemap, dual filter bloom, a time of day grade, and a volumetric marine layer for Karl the fog. AI agents write the issues, set the constraints, make the art direction calls, and review and validate every line of the roughly 235,000 lines of C++, GLSL, Python and PowerShell. What I built is the orchestration that holds it together, and the judgement on top of it: what to build, what to cut, and when to accept the result. The language choice is doing real work here. The hard part of AI written software is not producing the code. It is proving the code is right. C++ and Vulkan are unusually good at that, because nothing is hidden: every resource, every frame, every buffer you can read back. 28 golden image scenes compared by SSIM. An MCP server that drives the running app, so an agent can move the camera, set a sky preset, take a screenshot, and read the streaming counters back out. It validates against a live process instead of against its own diff. And a reviewer agent whose only job is to work out what the issue asked for before it reads the summary the PR wrote about itself. So I think C++ and Vulkan stay the heavy duty layer through the AI era. Not in spite of being low level. Because being performant, deterministic and checkable is exactly what an agent loop needs to push against. A managed engine hides the state that verification depends on. This is a hobby project, and it has nothing to do with my day job. Clips are below. More as I go. Map data © OpenStreetMap contributors (ODbL). Land cover: ESA WorldCover 2021 (CC BY 4.0). Terrain: USGS 3DEP and NOAA. Flight data: OpenSky Network. #Vulkan #cpp #gamedev #digitaltwin #OpenStreetMap
