Real Estate Agents are behind this corruption and most of these agents are whites. They're literally enablers of criminality in South Africa with this thing.

Yes, I know Black Americans who are signing one and two-year leases with 90-days visas. Some even gave up their U.S. apartments. They return to the U.S. for a few weeks then go back to their apartments in SA. Everyone is taking advantage of South Africa’s lax immigration laws and driving up rents for South Africans.

That’s why most white people seems to have an issue with us chasing illegal foreigners because they are the enablers of all the corruption happening since they know they will get away without them being noticed..

😭😭😭 And this further worsens the already unaffordable property prices in Cape Town. Our nation's legislative capital will soon be completely foreign-owned, with natives priced out and paving the way for Cape Independence. It would be so easy to stop this nonsense, but the ANC doesn't give a damn. No one should be allowed to lease property to a foreigner for a period longer than their visa allows them to be in the country. Worst of all: IT'S ALREADY WRITTEN IN LAW, BUT GOVERNMENT DOESN'T ENFORCE ITS OWN LAWS. The ANC and DA are a threat to our nation's sovereignty. They have got to go. Abahambe!!!

This is REALLY where I want to park my energies - the lawlessness of Europeans. This chap must be thanked, doing what our so-called journalists should be doing. The Inter-Ministerial Committee on Migration needs to level up! @mmkubayi @Prof_Cachalia @Khu_Ntshavheni

But who is monitoring the visa entries and departures? Are we really lax on everything? Other countries take pride in their borders and who access them. We r just open Sesame

The estate agents need to lose their licenses. In the UK, you can’t get a lease for longer than your visa.if the agent somehow manages to find a way around the law, and they are caught out, the agency will be fined/ could lose their license to trade.

This is a common practice in Cape Town and Gauteng, including highly affluent suburbs in Pretoria East, and it is mostly Nigerians. They even have a strategy of bringing other Nigerians every time their 90-day visa expires. Hence, you’d often find one unit occupied by more than 5-6 people.

@keletso30933369 @geordinhl @Leon_Schreib Why is this possible? What’s the logical explanation behind this? What’s the law governing this?

Thank you Mayor. Ive been saying that Americans and Europeans are no different to African foreigners. These people also bribe HA officials to stamp their passports to make it seem as though they left SA and came back after 90 days. @Leon_Schreib Minister its time to address this.

Yes, it is legal. However, most landlords for standard 1-year leases will require a South African bank account and proof of local income. Without local employment, this makes traditional long-term leases difficult to qualify for. Lets put it in the correct context: For digital nomads, remote workers, and visitors staying up to 90 days, the best options are flexible, fully furnished rentals. These usually don’t require credit checks and often include utilities: 1. No-Lease, Monthly Stays Companies like HOMii offer month-to-month rentals with no credit checks or fixed 1-year lease. 2. Serviced Corporate Apartments Providers like The Capital Apartments offer fully furnished apartments in Johannesburg, Pretoria, and Cape Town with extended monthly stay options. 3. Extended Stay Platforms Airbnb and Vrbo offer monthly discounts and work-friendly setups ideal for 90-day stays. Estate Agents (most of them) requires a visa which they then have validated before a longterm lease agreement is signed Another loophole in the system -hence a verification must be done The ethics committee must be tested Then again, I can buy property in SA on a 30/90 day visitors visa Also look at your vehicle rentals- all in the same category Money is King -as long as the debt is being paid The crooks will always find creative ways -as long as the 'dollars' are on the table
