I remember getting fired from Amazon when I was 20. They did it right in the middle of my shift. My night shift, in December, in Scotland. They made me leave the premises immediately at about 2am. I had a similar crash out to this guy because I wasn’t driving yet at that time and knew I was gonna have to wait around in like -8°C (17°F) until 5.30am to get a bus home. If you’re going to fire someone you should do it at the start of their shift. Better yet call them and tell them not to bother coming in.
