Today is the first day of the year. It also happens to be our dad’s 83rd birthday. He’s the youngest looking Octogenarian; smart as a whip. For that, we thank God and those mountain genes. Yesterday, we went camping by the lake deep in Mukono and he used the opportunity to remind us of our duty as good citizens (frame 1). He used his own example as a civil servant for decades to remind us we can always strive for better. I don’t know where we would be if this man didn’t sacrifice everything he had in order to give us an education. It’s all he says a parent should do; give your children the best education and you will have done your part in building a better society. Long may he continue rocking.

the way you literally *see* the anxiety seep into his features when he’s compared to tiger woods and serena williams. all shane ever wanted to do was play hockey, and the expectations on him as a POC to break barriers was huge. the concept of being outed and adding to those expectations of being a “trailblazer” must have been incomprehensible. as an asian player in a predominantly white sport, he always has to be a step above the rest just to be comfortable occupying the same space. adding queerness into the mix is another layer of “otherness” that is terrifying for someone like shane who’s only ever wanted to fit in and be recognised for his sport rather than as a public persona. he never wanted to be a role model and i just know that the pressure of that weighs on him. it’s something i definitely want to see explored from shane’s side in the show as well. of course we know ilya’s struggles and they’re explored in depth as they should be - but i’d love to see some exploration of the fact that as a white person ilya just gets to be good at hockey. for shane, being good at hockey will ALWAYS come with the extra weight/responsibility of knowing he’s a role model and he’s representing something bigger. it’s no wonder he’s desperate to find control in other areas of his life (his diet, his exercise routine etc).

Today at 11 AM, Dad will take his last drive home where, on his terms, he will go and fly with the angels. Send all of the positive energy and prayers our way as we prepare for the inevitable. I have so much to say, yet I have no words to say it. Everyone knows the special bond we have always had. Popa has always been the most amazing dad and husband anyone can ask for. While I am still grappling with the idea that all things come to an end. It’s never easy… for those who still have your parents; hug them tight and always tell them how much you love them. I know on a day like today I should be thankful but its tough to feel happiness on a day like this. My heart is broken into 1 million pieces… 💔😭

🚨 6 full days since we found him screaming in agony in an alley way and Mr Bear is still alive. 🏥 I thought we lost him a couple of times In the last 72 hours. He was really struggling to hang on. 🩸 We now know that it is leptospirosis that ravaged his body. It’s a disease passed on by rats and stagnant water. 🤒 His extreme pain is being managed and he has IV drips and all the meds he needs. He was puking, diarrhea and severe life threatening anemia all weekend. I don’t really know how he held on. 🥘 Last night and today he is back eating and drinking. It’s a tiny step but we think he might be 10% better. Still critical and he could slip away very easily but we all have some hope just looking at him today. 👁️ For the first time he has some clarity in his eyes. They are relaxing as he knows he is safe. 🛌 At the moment his best friend is sleep and his medicines. I don’t know how this story ends and it’s still a long shot we save him as he hasn’t even been able to move in 6 days. But if you told me Bear would be alive today and eating tiny bits of poached chicken I would have bitten your arm off for that outcome just 2 days ago. Please keep everything crossed for Bear 🙏

The hardest of decisions has been made. Tomorrow afternoon, our vet, who has been with us every step of this journey, will come to our home and help Ralph cross. Despite eating copious amounts of food, he lost 500kg in 3 weeks, down from 3kg to 2.5kg. His temperature is too low as he is too weak to regulate his body and he is showing signs of muscle weakness. Although no indicator for pain (we checked, twice), he is literally withering away and prolonging this will be completely and utterly for us, not for him and you all know by now, we would never, ever do that to our kids. He is home, on top of our warm bed and he will be so spoiled the next 24 hours. He will be hugged so much and will be told we love him until the moment he slips away in our arms Simon and I are devastated this is happening a 3rd time this year and this has been my fear for many, many years. Thank you all for being there for us and keep Ralph in your thoughts tomorrow as he starts his journey over the rainbow bridge.

I read over 1,000 pages on Julius Caesar's leadership, these are my five top takeaways... 1. Caesar inspired his troops by fighting alongside them. In a battle against the Helvetii he rode to the frontlines, then sent away his horse to show that he would endure the battle with his soldiers. No matter the outcome. This inspired his men to fight for him, as he shared their danger. Key Lesson- You must always work alongside your employees. Let them know you share in their suffering. 2. Caesar always moved with speed and agility. Napoleon said: "The strength of an army, is estimated by multiplying the mass by the rapidity" The Romans under Caesar were not only the best engineers, but they were also the fastest. This gave them speed and agility both in travel, and in warfare. Key Lesson- Speed and agility. Speed and agility. Speed and agility. 3. Caesar expected his troops to always be ready. “He also made a habit during campaigns of not announcing the hour of the army’s departure beforehand as he expected his men to be prepared to follow him at any time." Key Lesson- You must expect your employees to always be ready. Always keep them moving. Never let stagnation settle in. 4. Caesar pushed his troops to the absolute limits. It's also a lesson in: - meeting your moment - putting in the work - & fully committing By the time of that performance, Future Islands had played over 700 shows. Just look at them 😍 Rescue is really tough at the moment but for as long as we can, we will always prioritise the pound dogs They need vet work & assessment. They will very likely be rehomed by some of our trusted rescue network rather than us. Something I’d like to bring up because it’s not worth sugar coating anymore it’s the way people keep making Jooheon uncomfortable by bringing up alcohol talks on his 🫧 lives and he asked (politely) multiple times for people to stop. If you want to see Jooheon and/or members drinking alcohol and enjoying themselves, there are few contents of them on youtube, but stop making Jooheon uncomfortable, I don’t even know how many times he had to ask people to stop bringing up this subject on his lives/🫧 messages by now. He is still recovering from a strong cold and was even talking about how he had to eat his whole food to take the medications he received from his doctors and people asking for him to do a drinking live, when you know he doesn’t even like when we bring these things up in the first place. If he feels comfortable in the future to make a drinking content, such as live, I know he’ll do it because he wanted to, but the comments are getting out of hand and he is getting too uncomfortable. Please, be mindful! Idols are not dolls we can just do ehatever we want. If you are craving alcohol, you should drink it yourself and film a vlog to watch it later 👍 Please, let him have a normal and peaceful live or chat with fans for once!

haven’t kept up with the #WinorLose episodes after the first two because corporate Disney making Pixar erase any mention of Kai being transgender just hurt to much. But after seeing all the love Kai’s episode is getting I decided to watch, and Wow it’s still so beautiful trans!!😍🩷🏳️‍⚧️ Pixar really tried there best to keep the foundation of the episode so visually telling that even if you don’t know she’s transgender you can still pick it up. Seeing Kai at the beginning try to hid her younger photos was so relatable for me as a Trans Woman, and even though the scene with her father is supposed to be about baseball you can tell it’s about her coming out as a trans girl. Pixar showcasing a black father excepting his black trans daughter is so powerful and seeing Kai slowly start to socially transition was incredible. I really wish Bob Iger and the Disney shareholders valued trans kids enough to fight for them, but I’m so grateful to Pixar for always trying to do there best to make sure all kids (and adults lol) feel seen and represented. I hope one day Disney releases the fully done version of Kai’s episode, maybe for Pride Month.🙏🏾🩷🏳️‍⚧️ #KaiWillAlwaysBeTrans

Seeing Kai at the beginning try to hid her younger photos was so relatable for me as a Trans Woman, and even though the scene with her father is supposed to be about baseball you can tell it’s about her coming out as a trans girl. Pixar showcasing a black father excepting his black trans daughter is so powerful and seeing Kai slowly start to socially transition was incredible. I really wish Bob Iger and the Disney shareholders valued trans kids enough to fight for them, but I’m so grateful to Pixar for always trying to do there best to make sure all kids (and adults lol) feel seen and represented. This happens more than we know. Most people don’t report this thinking it’s a prank or it’s not serious, but the repercussions for ignoring this is real. This man came out to his car and noticed a new AirTag notification on his IPhone. When he tried to leave he noticed his backup camera was obstructed and that his mirrors were folded in. He even noticed tape on his door handle which kept unlocking the doors every so often. I wouldn’t stick around to find out what they were up to, I just wouldn’t. I’ve seen too many movies to know that the person who did this has bad intentions. What would concern me the most is how long that AirTag was there and how long were these people watching me. It’s important to be aware of your surroundings at all times. I always park far away because I don’t like people parking close to me for concern of them damaging my car. So often even at night I am walking to the end of the parking out by myself. If anybody was watching, this would make me a target. I am going to try to do better but I wanted to warn all of you as well. Would you have stuck around or dipped out immediately, what would you do with the AirTag?

Dear Pilgrim, Hear what this preacher said in 1997: "Gospel music ministers have agents who pimp them to the highest bidder" This was 28 years ago! If we keep trying to be politically correct, the lines will keep getting blurred until there are no lines. Sadly, we will leave battles we should have fought and won for our children. This is the story of 2025. If when asked if a Christian minister should have sex before marriage, or if a Christian minister should serve with integrity, we can answer yes or no. Why is it so hard for ALL of us Christians to agree on the Biblical standard for charging money in ministry? Why is it that matters of money have become such a big snare in the body? Why can't we just look at the Bible and do as it recommends? Why do matters of Babylon's gold always have to be stylishly evaded as matters of personal consecration? A church invites you to minister. This church will take care of transportation, accommodation, and feeding for you (and your team if applicable), and you feel it's right, in addition, to DEMAND a specific fee for ministry to them? How can we be arguing this for God's sake? How can you be demanding how much you must be given or paid? Is it no longer ministry? Then somebody says, "If they can not pay, they should forget I will go where they can pay." So how much money a church can pay now becomes part of the indices for determining which invite to accept. How sad!!! Whether music minister or preacher, anyone demanding a specific fee for ministry is a hireling. We shouldn't be politicizing these things. The person is "stealing" by trick. The church should honour and be a blessing to a minister financially. That's scriptural. However, it's not in the place of the minister to demand how much that honour should be. This should be very simple for us to agree on as Christians. Yes! Some churches abuse people in the name of ministry. I have been through it, Nathaniel Bassey has been through it. Many on CT have been through it. Any true minister has been through this before, and if you haven't, you will go through it. You won't be the first nor the last. It's part of the way God ensures that your heart in His service is in the right place. Some men will treat you poorly and despitefully use you, "in the name of God." However, this will never be a good enough reason to charge a fee for ministry. If your heart turns to begin to charge because of this, you were never in the service of Jesus. You were and are in ministry for your belly. Jesus didn't do it. When He sent His disciples out, He asked them not to do it. We shouldn't do it either. And we all should be bold enough to say this is the standard and leave every man to his conscience. At the seat of Christ, when all men's works will be tried and rewarded accordingly, no one will say he or she was not told. The fire will prove all men's works at the end. I pray you don't leave this matter until then. Let him that reads understand!
