One of the largest trading firms in the world teaches new hires poker before it lets them near a book. A newspaper brought a camera to the table and sat down to play. The men across the felt are working Wall Street traders. The firm is Susquehanna, which built poker into its training programme decades ago and still runs it that way, on the argument that the card room teaches something no finance degree does. Gunjan Banerji from the Wall Street Journal plays the hands herself rather than interviewing them about it. A green table, a dealer, chips, 4 people who do this for a living. No lecture hall, no slides. The teaching happens between deals, while money is actually at stake. They break it into parts on camera. Risk management first. Then bet sizing. Then patience, which sounds like the soft one and is not. Then reading the person opposite when the only data available is how they behave with money on the table. The section on patience is the one most people skip. Folding is the correct action in the overwhelming majority of hands, and almost nobody can do it for hours without inventing a reason to play. The same failure shows up in a trading account as overtrading, and it kills more people than bad analysis. Then bet sizing, which is where the video earns the watch. Being right about the odds is the easy half. How much you put behind a correct read is the part that ends careers, and they work through it hand by hand instead of describing it in the abstract. The turn is what the traders admit about being wrong. A good decision loses regularly, a bad decision wins regularly, and the only way to last is to grade the process instead of the result. Everything else in the video sits downstream of that. It matters more now than when the firm started running these tables. Every model prices probability in a second and hands it to you for free. Nothing on the screen tells you how much of your account to put behind the number, or what to do after the number was right and you lost anyway. Free on YouTube, produced by a newspaper, filmed at a real table with real hands. The maths is public. The sizing is the job. 1 table. 4 traders. It is in the video.

This girl gets some of her flirting advice right, but some is very OFF BASE. This is why you have to take dating advice for men that comes from women with a giant grain of salt šŸ§‚ Some of women’s advice may be useful… but some of it will always be MISLEADING. If you are not already savvy enough to tell the difference, you’ll mix in the bad with the good and not know where you’re tripping up. Break down of what is useful vs. what is MISLEADING: āœ… USEFUL: do not open her with ā€œYou’re really pretty/beautiful, I wanted to meet you.ā€ She doesn’t know what to say to that; she has also heard it before so many times you sound like a broken record. You can say pretty much ANYTHING other than this (e.g.: ā€œHey, how’s it going?ā€ This is 10x better than a generic looks-based compliment). āœ… USEFUL: open her with something relevant to the situation. Situationally relevant openers can work great. For instance: ā€œThink we’ll be in line forever?ā€ if you’re waiting in line, or ā€œThe art here sure is interesting huh,ā€ if there’s a weird piece of art. šŸ†‡ MISLEADING: you should not expect a girl to take over on your opener, like this girl did with the ā€œcute/sweetā€ coffee recommendation opener. Most girls are not outgoing enough that they are going to decide to ā€œhave a chatā€ with you immediately on the open. You are the man; you need to EXPECT to drive at least the first 2 minutes of conversation YOURSELF! āœ… USEFUL: ā€œkeep the conversation short, sweet, casual, funā€: all that, yes. The initial conversation needs to be light, playful, and engaging. Tease her within the first 30 seconds (that’s how she knows it’s a FLIRTATION and not a platonic chat). Make an observation about her or two (keep it positive and light). Tap her on the forearm on a joke or a high point. SMILE! You want your presence to be a warm, welcome, & flirtatious one. šŸ†‡ MISLEADING: ā€œworst thing you could possibly do is annoy her with your presenceā€; I mean, YES, BUT you do not need to be thinking about ā€œI’d better not annoy herā€ when you are talking to girls. If you do, you will play it too safe, act very boring, get into your head, and become uninteresting and un-fun. Instead, just focus on bringing fun and good energy (not ā€˜avoiding annoyance’). āœ… USEFUL: what she is calling a ā€˜non-invasive call to action’ (is this chick a marketer? Because this is marketer speak!) we call a ā€˜soft close’. Yes, soft close her. Easy one-size-fits-all soft close you can use with any girl (say this on a high point): ā€œWe should grab a bite or a drink sometime.ā€ As soon as she says ā€œyesā€, you have your green light 🟢 to grab her # šŸ†‡ MISLEADING: ā€œgive her your numberā€ā€¦ this is the WORST piece of advice in the video; even worse than the ā€œdon’t annoy herā€ bit (which will get you in your head doing things wrong). This girl has a wide face, deep voice, and high confidence, so she’s probably higher testosterone and extroverted. Girls like this are go-getters who will chase down guys on their own and make things happen sometimes (hence the ā€œdeciding to have a chatā€ with a guy when she liked his opener). Most women are NOT extroverted high testosterone women who will take charge and make things happen themselves. Most women are PASSIVE. The average girl who is into you will not text you first if you give her your number. She will just look at it, debate whether to text you, think about what she should text, feel self-conscious about it, feel like she shouldn’t be the first one to text, then you will simply never hear from her. You need to get HER number, so YOU can text, not give her YOURS. šŸ†‡ MISLEADING: ā€œsweet and endearingā€, sorry to say it and pop anyone’s bubble, but women do not usually hook up with the ā€œsweet and endearingā€ guys. They think the stuff these guys do is ā€œcuteā€, like how little children and pets are ā€œcuteā€, but they do not find them SEXY. You need to be in the lead, taking CHARGE, leading her through an interaction she enjoys, and setting the pace. Do not be ā€œsweet and endearing.ā€ Anyway, this girl seems really cool and it’s neat that she wants to help guys out. Well-meaning women advising you on dating though are some of the most dangerous because they believe what they are saying and just do not KNOW when the advice they’re giving is counterproductive for a man to actually use vs. productive! (That said, positive encouragement for men to approach & flirt is ALWAYS good! So hat tip to her!)

If "they" (ultraterrestrials?) can do this, what else can they form out of thin air? Craft? Bodies/beings (AI?) that we think are ET? A lot of folks think this is bullshit and Leslie was fooled. I'm not one of them. I've read some of the same books about various physical mediums that Leslie mentions and it certainly seems like this is a real phenomenon. She (and David Haith) saw this in person at a Stewart Alexander (SA) seance. Leslie was a few feet away and shook the hand. This type of thing has been reported to be happening since at least the 1800s. Is it the dead communicating with us? I lean towards...NO. See Keel's take (I'll tweet that later today), which could be what's going on. LK on the alleged materialization of a hand. Why isn't it filmed? SA says he doesn't want his life turned upside down and disrupted, and he believes putting out a video showing this process would do just that. So he just keeps doing his thing every week. Skeptics would dismiss it and others would ask for more. SA is fine with the way things are now. Leslie: I have experienced this materialization many times and so have many other people. The table has a light under it and is illuminated. SA is strapped into his chair and has luminous knee pads on so you can see he's in his chair. "You see this vaporous cloud of ectoplasm coming over the edge of the table, towards my hand. It sort of looks like water, it's kind of moving. And it gets bigger and bigger. And then you start to see these sort of digits forming in it. You can see this hand forming before your eyes. There's a certain moment where it becomes from flat to three dimensional. And it's a fully-formed hand that you can see." The first time the hand appears, it forms a first and pounds on the table so everybody knows it's physical. Then the hand withdraws and the whole process repeats itself. "Then I'm allowed to touch that hand. I held that materialized hand, which didn't exist 30 seconds before I held it. It was an absolutely normal, human hand. Large. What was interesting to me was it was very warm and very soft. The skin felt like a baby's skin to me. Which kind of made sense to me bc it was just formed. It was like a large, male hand, there's nothing abnormal about it. It moved, it had all the structures of a hand." Leslie says the hand belongs to the spirit entity named Walter and he orchestrates the entire thing. I'm gonna repost this later with the full notes and quotes and the Keel excerpt, which might explain what is going on here and the possible connection to the phenomenon. Gonna go watch Leslie on Curt Jaimungal now. #ufotwitter #uaptwitter #ufo #uap #ufos Source:

To my fellow Calgarians and Ward 3 residents, Last night, I announced that I will not be seeking re-election in October 2025. This decision came after last night’s decision on Green Line LRT and much deliberation with my family. It’s been an absolute pleasure to represent Ward 3 in City Hall over the past three years. Despite setbacks from the pandemic, we’ve made great progress on some of the city’s biggest strategic challenges. From zoning reform and the tax shift to making transit free for kids under 12 and record investments in affordable housing, I’m incredibly proud of what I’ve been able to accomplish. At the Ward level, we advanced the Nose Creek Park Strategy together, renovated the Sandstone MacEwan Rink and got a record number of Traffic Safety improvements installed. None of this could have been done without the advocacy and support of my residents. You make Calgary a great place to live and it’s been a pleasure getting to know so many of you. I’d like to thank my amazing team, Briana & Sarah, for their endless support and dedication to Ward 3. I couldn’t have accomplished this without you, and the many others who supported my candidacy. Politics is a difficult work environment, but I hope my fellow citizens consider putting their names forward to represent our city. Public service is a noble pursuit, and we need thoughtful leaders of all backgrounds around the decision-making table. I’d like to end by thanking my council colleagues for their leadership, and to the many employees of the City of Calgary. I am convinced we have the hardest working civil service in the country, and it’s been a pleasure to work alongside you. I don’t know what the future holds for me, but I’ve learned a great deal in this chapter of my leadership journey and look forward to serving our city in new and exciting ways. #yyccc #yyc

Here is some videos of the larger craft from 12-4-2024 and some of the UFO Spheres from 12-3-2024. The Spheres have been here every night this week. They have been down low by the house like normal but we have seen many of them flying all around the area very fast. They will blink very fast or keep the plasma field on but at a lower brightness than when they are just hovering beside the house. On 12-4-2024 we were watching the Spheres flying all around then we saw the larger UFO appear after a helicopter circled the area. It stayed beside the house for over an hour only moving about 800 meters in that amount of time. It was under 1000 feet in altitude and bigger than C-17 aircraft. It looked saucer shaped but wider in the center and tapered around the edges. It was showing up very hot on the thermal camera even though no visible light at all was coming from it. The Spheres showed up cold on the thermal camera when the plasma field was not glowing when we filmed them closer up before. This larger craft had the plasma field around it just like the Spheres but it was not glowing. We could not see the craft with our naked eyes or on the starlight camera or IR cameras. Only the thermal camera would pick it up. Can see how the air around it is shimmering and can see the field around it. It looked better in person but what I filmed is important because you all will see this again on some daytime close up videos! I have watched these craft up close many times and they have this plasma field around them and even when its not glowing its there. In the daytime you can see the air shimmering around the craft very good. We have seen them use this to bend the light around the craft someway and turn the craft almost completely invisible but you could still see the air shimmering around the craft. I had some cheap starlight cameras that would pick the larger crafts up when the Spheres were beside them glowing and the larger craft was almost invisible. The glow from the Spheres plasma would outline were the larger craft was and we could see it on those starlight cameras. We had a handheld digital starlight camera when this craft was over us and it would not pick it up at all. This is the real UFOs and we have seen them here for over twenty years and after the close encounters in 2012 they started staying very close to us and showing up very often. Even when we cant see them we have seen things to let us know they are near us. The Spheres can change shape and we have them on videos doing it. The larger craft we have seen have all looked different but the Spheres are a constant even though they can change shape. During the close encounter on 11-8-2012 there were many of the Spheres and two larger U shaped craft that the Beings came out of. On 2-16-2023 there was a larger craft here that was over 300 meters long and is the biggest craft we have seen the Spheres with. Then we saw this craft that we have seen before a few times including in the daytime. The Spheres have been with each of the larger craft every time. The Spheres act like they guard and protect the larger craft each time they are around. Sometimes they stay very close to them and on 2-16-2023 some of the Spheres were going in the bottom of the giant craft or attaching to the bottom of it and there was an electrical charge or something that would go all around the larger craft when the Spheres attached or went into it. When this larger craft on the 4th was sitting there we saw several of the Spheres flying around really fast with the plasma field on a constant low glow. We have seen them doing this all around the area this whole week. The other ones were down low beside the house and that's were they normally stay close to when they show themselves. I'm not sure what the ones flying all around were doing. Its really different activity the way they were acting. Monday there were so many doing this in every direction we could not count them all. It had to be in the hundreds. We watch the radars also and watch all the aircraft around us during these events and none of the craft we were seeing shows on any public radar sites. The military radar site does not show them either. Monday there was a large increase in commercial fights and some of these aircraft had to see all the smaller craft flying around really fast. Some had the plasma glowing constant but many had it flashing really fast. Way faster than the navigation lights of regular aircraft. Many of the so called drones being seen around the world and in America the last few weeks are these craft and there are some videos going around from New Jersey that shows these craft but some are showing something that looks more man made. On the ones that look more man made there has been sound that sounds like jet engines on many I have seen. The craft here make ZERO sound most of the time! We have only heard a few very strange sounds come from them over the years. One sound sounded like a giant transformer humming during the close encounter on 11-8-2012 and on 2-16-2023 we heard what sounded like very loud trumpets come from the sky! We were not the only ones that heard that. People up the road that can not see this area and that knows nothing about what's going on here told us they heard the trumpet sounds and thought it was the end of the world and told us they started praying! They also told us they saw a light floating through the trees back toward our land. There has been some other strange sounds also and something really strange is in the summer time there are hundreds of thousand of frogs in the swamps around our land when its raining more and when the UFOs show up all the frogs will stop singing at one time. This is on some of the videos I have. When you are out there beside the swamps and there are that many frogs singing then they all stop at one time its very strange! Its not just the frogs, all the animals and insects seem like they stop. Sometimes they do it right before the plasma field turns on and sometimes right after. Two of my male dogs would go crazy also right before the UFOs show themselves. I have other dogs but those two were super sensitive to whatever was coming from the UFOs. I think they all are hearing something from the UFOs that we cant hear or they are feeling what I feel from them when they are closer to me. Either way its probably something that scientist could pick up with the right equipment. #UFO #UAP #RealUFOs #Spheres #ufox #ua

Dear X Family, Please RT my story ā¤ļø My name is Julie. Darkness has been with me since the day I was born inside Ridglin. I was one of the beagles at Ridglin Farms, bred for a life I didn’t understand, a life filled with fear. I couldn’t see the others, but I could hear them. I could smell them. We were all the same—waiting, afraid. The metal bars of my cage were my whole world, and when the noise, the footsteps, and the fear got too much, I did the only thing I knew to do—I spun. Around and around, in tight circles, my paws moving fast beneath me. It was the only way I could stop the fear from crushing me, the only thing that helped when I didn’t know what else to do. The humans in white coats didn’t notice. They never did. They would come, take one of us away, and that beagle would never come back the same. Or they wouldn’t come back at all. The air was thick with anxiety, and when it filled me too much, I would spin. I’d spin and spin until the world stopped feeling so heavy. Then, one night, something different happened. I heard footsteps again, but these were softer, quicker. They didn’t sound like the humans I was used to. My ears twitched, and I pressed my body against the cage, trying to understand what was happening. Then, I felt a hand—gentle and warm in a way that wasn’t scary. It was different from the cold hands of the humans in white coats. I froze, unsure of what to do. ā€œWe’re here to help you,ā€ a voice whispered. I wanted to trust them, but my heart was racing. My paws itched to spin, to make the anxiety go away, but the door to my cage opened, and I felt a different kind of space around me. They lifted me out, cradling me in their arms, and I trembled—not because I was cold, but because I didn’t know what would happen next. The air outside was like nothing I’d ever felt before. It smelled of life, of things growing and moving. I could feel the soft ground beneath my paws. Grass, they called it. It was strange at first, and I spun in small, tight circles, trying to understand where I was. But as I spun, something changed. I felt the soft touch of a hand on my back, and for the first time, the spinning didn’t feel necessary. They took me to a new place, one that smelled of safety and warmth. The air didn’t sting with chemicals or fear. There were no cages, just soft blankets, and voices that spoke kindly. When I spun here, it wasn’t because I was scared—it was because I didn’t know what to do with all this freedom. I still think of the others sometimes. The beagles back at Ridglin Farms, trapped in their cages, waiting, spinning like I used to. They can’t see the world they’re missing, just like I can’t, but I hope that one day they’ll feel what I feel now—freedom. The warmth of the sun on their fur, the soft ground under their paws, and the kindness of people who care. My name is Julie, and though I may never see the world, I can feel it now. I still spin sometimes, but now I know I can stop. I know what it’s like to be free. --------------------------------------------------------- This footage of Julie was captured by our friends, Wayne Hsiung and two other individuals from Direct Action Everywhere. They discovered later Julie was blind. Ridglin Farms dropped the theft charges against Wayne and two others for rescuing the three beagles. They did this to avoid further exposure of their facility to the public. On October 23rd, 2024. A court hearing was held at the Dane County Court House. Wayne and three Whistleblowers presented evidence to the judge of more abuse inside Ridglan Farms. We've published summary of what's happened since this hearing in link below. Thank you for your LOVE and RT's. You're helping save these beagles by amplifying their stories on X. #StopAnimalCruelty #stopanimaltesting

Recently I got some hands-on time with Crimson Desert and below are my first impressions as well as some of the gameplay I was able to capture. Crimson Desert is a good game, but it won’t be for everyone. I know the devs claim this isn’t an RPG, but I don’t know any other way to describe this game other than a HARDCORE action RPG. If you need the yellow paint to know where to climb this game isn’t for you. But if you love getting lost in a whimsical world with a boat load of content this game is going to be right up your alley. I think what impressed me most is the attention to detail. There’s so many little things the dev team took into consideration that I think people who enjoy being immersed into a world are going to appreciate. Even if you aren’t that person; on a basic level I think most will enjoy the game's combat. It’s fast, fluid and provides a ton of player expression with its deep skill tree. The world of Pywel is vibrant, large in scale and full of life. It’s easy to get lost off the main quest line as there’s always something to do and someone to speak to. An example being I was wandering through the open world and encountered a distressed woman seeking help. I agreed to follow her only to find out moments later she was with a gang and they were trying to back door me. That had me cracking up. I think if the open world is consistently full of fun, unique side content like that & the main quest line is fire this game has a lot of potential to impress. It’s just a shame that I didn’t get to spend more time with the main quests as I kept getting side tracked with cool stuff to do in the open world. So I can’t give you much insight into that. What I can say is after the opening section there’s NEXT TO NO tutorials in this game, the puzzles are hard & the default controls are a bit clunky. You will be getting lost and I can see that frustrating some people who aren’t interested in a challenge. That’s why I mentioned earlier that this is a hardcore RPG. It does not do a lot of hand holding. Because of that I predict you and your friends will be sharing tips and tricks similar to when Elden Ring first launched and nobody knew what they were doing. If you are a patient person and take the time to learn the game's systems I promise you will be able to put together some awesome combos that will make you feel like the main character. My biggest fear for this game is that I won't finish it. Not because it’s a bad game, but I can just tell from my brief time with it that it’s next level massive. As someone who's been gaming for 30+ years it’s very rare you’ll hear me say a game was overwhelming, but this game is. For people who lack a ton of free time I can see that being a turn off because once again the game doesn’t give much direction or tutorials outside the opening area. Not to mention this game could be big just for the sake of being big. I was curious to know how much of the content was engaging versus just open world bloat? Hard to tell because I only got a few hours with the game. I also fear that the Ai isn’t the best in this game. The Ai issues I encountered zapped all immersion away for those moments. I’m not sure if the final build will differ from the vertical slice we played, but what I can tell you is that on the build we played I wasn’t impressed by the Ai. Several times I attacked enemy camps and they never reacted to me attacking them. They just stood there and took it which made the world feel less alive. There were also times where enemies were looking dead at me just standing still as the battle music played threatening to beat me up, but they never did anything. It was 3 or 4 times I encountered this poor Ai which is a red flag for me because I only got two hours of hands on time with the game. Mind you in those two hours a good portion of it was just me working my way through the prologue and the early quests, so I didn't spend a ton of time in the open world. What I'm trying to get at is the janky ai was very noticeable. It wasn't something that took long to find. I will say when the game works it's great, but when I tell you the Ai was bad at times it was bad. It reminded me of the dumb NPC’s often found in Ubisoft open world games. I’m not looking for this to be a Souls game but I want some level of challenge in the combat. Hopefully that stuff gets patched out. That being said, I’m confident in saying this game is good. I just didn’t have enough time with it to determine if it’s good, or GREAT. Only time will tell when Crimson Desert drops on March 19th, 2026 for the PC, PS5 and Xbox Series. Pros —---------- - Combat makes you feel like demon - Deep Skill tree - Vibrant world - Solid voice acting - Fire OST - The little details (trust system, you can commit crimes ect.) - No Fall damage - Puzzles are creative & challenging - Game doesn’t hold you hand (some people will hate this) - You can swap in and out of 3rd and 1st person at will. Wasn’t able to explore much of how that changes the game, but it’s nice that it's an option. - EASILY over 100hrs of content (some will hate this though) Cons —---------- - Clunky controls (Default controls take some time adjusting too. I hope there’s other control schemes at launch) - Inconsistent Ai (Ubisoft bad at times. sometimes the enemies wouldn’t attack during combat or act like they never saw you) - Long load times (we were playing on PC’s, but idk the specs) - Your horse can faint & when they do traveling the large world wasn’t as fun (and I couldn’t figure out how to get him back - most likely a skill issue) - Early stamina management is OD. Early game it’s easy to drown & get tired running. I’d imagine it gets better late game, but early game it’s frustrating trying to explore. - Camera takes some getting used to in combat. Sometimes its too close and others too far. - Early arrows have no impact. Felt useless. Hoping later upgrades fix that

No panic. No euphoria. Just audit season. The door isn’t closing, it’s being priced. Retail investor doesn’t need forecasts. It needs rules: presence, entries, and emotional immunity. This wasn’t an ā€œAI is strongā€ earnings season. It was the first audit season. Whether data centers land on time. Whether hyperscaler capex becomes durable cash flow. Whether the backlog is future money, or future explanations that require financing, time, and a lot of narrative stamina. Rates are still high. That makes the game cruel. You don’t just need growth. You need growth that clears the rate line. You don’t just need a story. You need a business model that can survive being audited. That’s why the tape has been telling you the truth in plain sight. $ORCL can talk about massive commitments and still roll over from highs. $GOOGL can trade like a ā€œwinnerā€ and still slip under 300. Semis can look unstoppable one month and suddenly trade heavy the next. That’s not ā€œAI died.ā€ That’s the market quietly forcing one question onto every balance sheet: show me the cash. Micron is a perfect window into this regime. $MU earnings are not a referendum on ā€œmemory strength.ā€ They’re a referendum on whether the slope of the AI supply chain can still be believed. In audit season, guidance doesn’t have to be bad to get punished. It only has to be not strong enough. And here’s the part most people miss: institutions and retail are playing different games on the same table. Institutions are not constrained by conviction. They are constrained by not getting hurt. In a crowded, low-cash environment, any sentence that doesn’t sound airtight becomes a reason to de-risk. Their job is to cut tails, protect sleep, survive the next IC, and still have a story for LPs. Retail has a different edge. You don’t report to anyone. Your advantage is time. So the retail framework is simpler and more uncomfortable than most ā€œearnings takesā€: Stay present. Even if it’s small. You can’t control events, but you can refuse to be absent from the trend. Make adds rule-based, not emotion-based. When it sells off, ask one thing: is the slope being rejected, or are expectations being cleared? If it’s expectation clearing and the chain isn’t broken, that drawdown is a discount, not a disaster. And stop confusing complexity with intelligence. Options aren’t a personality. For most people they have one legitimate purpose: Helping you sleep. If you can live with volatility, spot is cleaner. What you need is a rule set: where you add, how many times you add, and where you stop. Audit season doesn’t teach you how to ā€œcall direction.ā€ It teaches you which game you’re actually playing. And the biggest mistake retail makes in this regime is borrowing institutional fear and calling it ā€œrisk management.ā€

KITSUNE 🦊 šŸ’« When I embarked on this project a month ago, I didn’t expect it to consume holidays, evenings, and far too many nights—but here we are. From the first scenes, I knew I had something special, and I don’t want audiences to watch an ā€œAI filmā€ā€”I just want them to watch a film, and hopefully, a good one at that. ( Sound On šŸ”ˆ) šŸ‘‡ KITSUNE is a tale of love between two souls separated by everything except their shared feelings of loneliness. I grew up in front of beautiful cartoons, from timeless treasures like those of Don Bluth, which I watched again and again to the point of damaging my VHS tapes, to early 90s anime, and later, of course, plenty of Studio Ghibli. And yes, before you ask—I know Hayao Miyazaki would disapprove of this film 100%, but then again… I’m not (only?) seeking approval. I’ve had goosebumps many times while reviewing the evolving states of this film, and I hope at least some of you will feel the same. Another famous director (Guillermo del Toro , I see you) recently said AI could create ā€œsemi-compelling screensavers,ā€ and I see this as a step toward proving him wrong. Because you’ll ask: under the hood, there’s been tons of writing, re-writing, and switching directions mid-way. All shots were generated with Google’s text-to-video hashtag#VEO2. I faced countless challenges and hoops to bring my vision to life, finding ways to prompt and structure within the limitations of text-to-video despite VEO’s excellent prompt adherence. So, is VEO magic? No, not really—and the 1,700+ curated sequences on my hard drive (out of an estimated 5,000–7,000 total generations) are proof of that. What impressed me most was the global consistency, adherence, and how I could achieve tweaks by simply adjusting a few words. But what mattered most to me was creating something warm, nostalgic, and full of heart, avoiding the cold, clinical feel of so many films leveraging AI. Also, I’m a 40-year-old kid who grew up in front of the TV, has been creative his entire life, and has been designing professionally for nearly two decades. The more time passes, the more I know I can relate to what Nick Rubin said in that now-famous interview, where he mentions having no technical knowledge but trusting and building his own taste. If you like this film, this isn't just "Oh, AI is magic." You need to steer the damn ship. Then there’s MMAudio for sound effects, regular good old stock sound libraries, music on Udio for this version (yes, there’s a second version—more on that later), and tons and tons (and tons!) of editing, sound design, and small post-processing touches. Is this exposing risks for animators? Perhaps. Or it could also be their greatest companion, because once again, this is the worst it will ever be, yada yada yada.... No, it isn’t perfect, and if you look close enough, you’ll find defects and variations, but this is a film I’m proud of, not just an AI one... Enjoy. Wanna see a clean uncompressed version?

Westerners Flocking to Play Stunning New Chinese Video Game—and Skipping ā€˜Spyware’ Warnings . CHINESE DESIGNERS JUST LAUNCHED another video game which is a hit worldwide. Where Winds Meet has some spectacular battle scenes on screen -- but the conflicts off-stage (west-east culture wars, psyops, business battles) are just as interesting. People in the game industry in the west are concerned—for several good reasons. Before we get there, take 20 seconds to check out the great-looking visuals, which come from the same studio that created Black Myth Wukong, a globally popular game launched in August 2024, based on the story of the Monkey King. Where Winds Meet also celebrates classic Chinese culture. It is set in the city of Kaifeng in 10th century China – and is filled with gorgeous images of that place. . CULTURAL DEPTH It has cultural depth, too. For example, everyone knows fireworks are an ancient Chinese art, but the game features molten metal spark showers, a popular art form pretty unknown outside China. In one scene you can see the flying apsaras, those Indian-influenced airborne women whose images adorn the ancient Dunhuang Caves on the silk road. Where Winds Meet is already among the favorites on Steam, the world’s biggest online game center. It includes many battles, of course. But there are related conflicts off line, in real life, too. . NUMBER ONE: CULTURE WARS. In many games released in the west, it is considered wrong to give players the choice of having a male or female character, because it implies there are just two sexes, which is a big no-no in the west. In Where the Winds Meet, players who opt for English language follow the western model, and are given the choice of Body Type I or Body Type II, no mention of forbidden words ā€œmaleā€ and ā€œfemaleā€. But players who opt for the Chinese version are given the choice of male or female. Trying to keep everyone happy! . NUMBER 2. HYBRID WARS, OR PSYOPS. From the moment the game came out, mysterious persons ā€œrevealedā€ that the game was made by Chinese people so it was a security threat, riddled with spyware. You can imagine them thinking that their gameplay information was being transmitted straight to Xi Jinping’s office! ā€œHmm. This incel sitting in a basement in his mother’s house prefers body type 2! Write that down, comrades.ā€ But here’s the twist. Everybody ignored the warnings. By the end of the first day, people had played the game two million times, and that’s just the new version, the non-Chinese one. . NUMBER THREE: THE BUSINESS BATTLE The US groups which normally dominate the field, like Ubisoft, have repeatedly reported disappointing results recently. And some of the biggest recent hits have been from outside America. Black Myth Wukong was from China’s NetEase, Expedition 33 was from France, and this new game, Where Winds Meet, is also from NetEase. A popular video game reviewer called Hypnotic lamented the poor quality of games from the west—with the players blaming the designers and the designers blaming the players. ā€œThe east ends up releasing video games that end up blowing the doors down whenever they release,ā€ he said. ā€œAnd then you end up getting developers from the west that'll make up all kinds of excuses as to why these games are successful. They'll call it slop. They'll call it Chinese spyware. They'll call it whatever they want. But at the end of the day, at least somebody is trying to put out video games that players actually want, that isn't just indie developers.ā€ . FIELD IS OPEN Now this does NOT mean that games from the east are uniformly taking over the global game industry. The west is still putting out some great games, with Expedition 33 being a good example. What it does mean is that China is catching up fast. We’ve seen this happening in many sectors. And as long as there’s a level playing field, it ultimately means that people get more choice. . A FAIRER, SAFER WORLD But more importantly than that, it gives people around the world a different image of China. The western mainstream media tends to create an image of China as an evil tech dystopia, sometimes literally describing it as a giant gulag. Games like this one show it to be community of creative people, producing fun products, and a place with a rich culture and an amazing history. The result, we hope, will be a fairer world – and a fairer world is a safer world.

🚨 Donate to Gaza urgently 🚨 šŸš Watch the children… and see the silent greetings carried in their empty bowls… not words… but hunger speaking from within. šŸ– Watch… but don’t just see— feel what hunger becomes when it lives inside a child for days… gnawing… weakening… refusing to let them stand. This is not a queue… this is survival lined up under the sun… waiting for a meal that may never come. Children stand without sound… not because they are calm… but because hunger has taken even their strength to speak. Their faces are pale… their eyes searching… their bodies too weak to even ask. They are not dreaming of toys… not asking for comfort… only for food… a small plate… to keep their fragile bodies going. šŸš Small hands hold empty bowls… as if holding onto hope itself… as if letting go means disappearing. šŸ„€ Watch how tightly they hold onto every grain… like it could vanish šŸ„€ See how they eat slowly… as if they are stretching survival šŸ„€ Notice their faces… how hunger has erased childhood… leaving only need In Gaza… food is no longer a simple right… it is the thin line between strength… and collapse. Mothers wait for hours… with empty hands and breaking hearts… watching their children weaken… unable to give them something so basic… yet so unreachable. šŸ„€ Some children leave with nothing šŸ„€ Some collapse before their turn šŸ„€ Some share a single plate… dividing survival into impossible portions This is not food distribution… this is a quiet fight against hunger… bite by bite. ✨ Thank you to the voices trying to make this seen: šŸ¤ William Menaker (Will 🦄 Menaker) šŸ”„ Felix (GoliathFan1952) ✨ Eyup Lovely (Eyup Lovely) But so many are still waiting… still hungry… still unseen… 🚨 Do not look away… because every moment of silence here… is another child whose hunger was never answered… another life fading… without even a meal.

some people criticizing and understimating the pain that zhang linghe felt during filming this "mounting a horse" scene in Pursuit of Jade. the harsh critics makes it to the point this actor who also often working with hanging wires make a video to clarify šŸŽ¬āš”ļø "Everyone, this is a behind-the-scenes clip from the set of the recently very popular web drama, Pursuit of Jade, showing the male lead Zhang Linghe mounting a horse while wearing armor. The reason we’re talking about it is because many people in the comment section have been criticizing him. Let’s watch the video first. Without exaggerating or defending him blindly, as someone in the same profession who has also been suspended on wires a few times, I’ll give an objective evaluation of whether he’s acting or just complaining for no reason. First, the armor he’s wearing must have a sense of heaviness in order to show texture on camera. Judging by eye, this armor probably weighs about 20–30 jin (roughly 10–15 kg). That’s like carrying dozens of pounds of rice while getting onto a horse, which is somewhat difficult. So they use wire to help him mount the horse. That part is not really a problem. Now the key point, everyone should look carefully at the details. Wire rigs are generally made of high-strength steel cables, otherwise they could easily snap. That’s why you often hear news about actors using wire rigs where the cable breaks and they fall, breaking arms or legs. It is indeed very dangerous. I’ve even heard of actors becoming paralyzed after falling when the wire broke. Now here’s where his issue appears: the high-strength steel cable is rubbing against his armpit. People may not know that the skin under the armpit is extremely delicate. Imagine that steel wire bearing such heavy body weight while rubbing against the armpit, and there’s no armor padding there either, basically only a piece of clothing between the skin and the wire. That is very painful. Once when I was filming a costume drama and suspended on wires, I was wearing two layers of clothing, and I didn’t even have the extra weight of armor. Even so, after filming and returning to my room, there was a thick blood mark under my armpit. So regarding this video, I hope everyone can understand and discuss the matter based on facts. He really is in pain. Behind the glamorous appearance, there is suffering that’s hard to talk about. Sometimes if you say it, people think you’re being melodramatic. If you don’t say it, you just feel frustrated. Many times it looks like nothing to outsiders, but only people in the same profession can truly understand. thankyou for the explanation video teacher🄺 I hope people will see zhang linghe's dedication in this vid🄹
