Democrats wanted to open up the border and now that illegal immigrants are here, they want to give them free healthcare. That’s what Chuck Schumer wants and why air traffic controllers are angry! They want to go to work, I need them to go to work, and I need them to get paid.

You pay taxes to cover welfare for people who just choose not to work. That’s why I launched a welfare-to-work requirement. If you’re young, healthy, and get government assistance, you should work, go to school, or volunteer.

Suozzi: When something crazy is being proposed—something outlandish—we need to fight and resist. But when something addresses the concerns of the American people, we need to find common ground and get things done. This isn’t just about the election in 2026 or the election in 2028. It’s about right now. It’s about making people’s lives better now. A lot of people will say, “Well, the Republicans didn’t do that. They didn’t help Biden get things done. They didn’t work across party lines when they controlled the House.” And that’s true. It was the least productive Congress in modern history… But just because that’s what they did doesn’t mean that’s what we should do. It’s not just about winning. It’s about trying to move the country forward, solve problems, and make people’s lives better. This business isn’t worth it for the ego or just for the competition—“I’m right, you’re wrong; I win, you lose.” It’s only worth it if we’re actually making the world a better place to live in. We need to call out the Republicans when they do crazy stuff, when they’re extreme. But we also need to work with them when we can find ways forward to make our country a better place to live in.

LA officials choose not to and now don't even seem to be able to support ICE and getting illegal immigrants out of our country. ICE needs help. So the federal government should make sure they get the help they need so they can do their job as safely and as effectively possible. Enforce the law, with or without local help.

We want to give people a hand up, not a hand out. Arkansas just announced its plans for a Medicaid work requirement. If able-bodied, working age adults get free healthcare, they should be expected to work, go to school, volunteer, or be home with their kids.

It’s interesting how many people get disability pay from being in the military but don’t actually seem to be injured to where they can’t work .. and also some seem to get “full disability” paying out several thousand a month and work a full time job Shouldn’t the point of disability pay mean you disabled to where you aren’t in physical condition to work ?

Our federal workers have been demonized since Trump took office and they are now being forced to work without pay, furloughed or even fired. That’s why Sam and I stopped by yesterday to thank some of our local federal employees for their service and delivered donuts and coffee to start their day. But they deserve much more than pastries. They deserve a functioning government where they can continue to do their critical work to support us and keep us safe. Thank you for continuing to serve our country. We need you more than ever.

This person decided to lie down in front of a city bus and refuse to move. The driver honked several times, but they stayed right where they were, leaving everyone else stuck waiting. Hundreds of people are just trying to get to work, school, or home. Why should all of them have their day disrupted because of one person? 🤦‍♂️
