The funny thing about Nigeria 🇳🇬 and some Nigerians is that they are scared of Igbo’s “domination” yet you do not want to support them leaving Nigeria 🇳🇬. What exactly do you need, if people were genuine in their assertions about the Igbo’s then the conversation should be in favour of the Igbo people leaving the forced union and having their independent state. If you take the Igbo’s away from Nigeria the country would become tasteless I will explain the Igbo’s are like the salt of that country as it is and also the glue holding it together as a country! For example an average Yoruba person lacks to courage to leave their comfort zone to explore other parts of the country as such they lack the knowledge of other ethnic groups across the country, the mostly know the three major ethnic groups Hausa, Igbo and themselves, aside that most Yorubas have no understanding of who is who so is the Hausa people. To the Yoruba and Hausa people if you are not Yoruba or Hausa they see you as Igbo But the Igbo’s control in both northern regions and southwest regions the small medium enterprises. They are in every region, in every state and tongue across the federation thriving. So they are not only the salt they are also the glue sticking the country together. The Hausa people generally don’t trust the Yoruba people but for the purpose of sidelining the Igbo’s for fear of Igbo dominance they have to Aline with one of the three major ethnic groups to achieve that objective and since the Igbo people are the ethnic group that they fear, their only choice becomes the Yoruba people. The fear of the Igbo people domination by the north is not a new phenomenon and it pre dates even the civil war in Nigeria 🇳🇬 because in 1956 Ahmadu Bello allayed such concerns in his interview with a British journalist who asked him about the north obsession about the Igbo’s. In his response he said “the Igbo’s are such a people that even if you put them in a Labour camp, that within a very short period they will emerge as the leaders in that camp” here is the link So in actual fact, the qualities that other countries would have explored to compete against other nations to build capacity is working against the Igbo’s in Nigeria 🇳🇬 ( Being ambitious, never giving up no matter how low they start, wanting to be successful to compete in all fields of life and the strife to be better and win are the characteristics of an Igbo man that the Hausa futlani and the Yoruba people consider a bad thing.) hence they are conniving against the Igbo’s. But one day in my opinion these strategies will fail them and the Igbo people will emerge victorious in whatever way possible Imagine being hated and criticised for the strength you have which is your competitive disadvantage. You wonder why Nigeria 🇳🇬 is shame in comparison to its rivals!
