We have weekends and healthcare and a minimum wage because of strikes. Of course they work. If they didn’t, there wouldn’t be union busters.

We know strikes don't help kids' education directly but when we don't, govt treats us abysmally. Perhaps we are teaching our kids not to be pushed around by a lying govt. I point out govt lies every day to my students.

@Neil_J_Ryder If strikes didn’t work there wouldn’t be laws governing how they are conducted.

Would love to see a Secretary of State for Education who had actually been a teacher and who understood the complexities involved in teaching children; not just the curriculum but maintaining their safeguarding in some circumstances too.
