According to her account, someone else, whom she identified, betrayed her by releasing the voice recording without her consent. She also made it clear that she still regards Mallam Pantami as a father figure. As she put it, “Mallam Pantami babana ne” — Mallam Pantami is my father — and she believes he has the right to advise or correct her whenever she does something wrong. She further stated that she remains with the Pantamiyya movement. This clarification is important because, from her perspective, the recording was not intended to attack, embarrass, or discredit Mallam Pantami.

If it is indeed true that the person in this video is the APC governorship candidate in Gombe State and is openly campaigning for Atiku as seen in this video, then the leadership of APC must take decisive action. A governorship candidate who cannot publicly support and market his own party's presidential candidate has no business flying the party's flag. The party should immediately review his candidacy and take appropriate disciplinary measures including expulsion if necessary, so he can openly and wholeheartedly pursue his political allegiance elsewhere. Political loyalty and party discipline are fundamental principles that should not be compromised.
