Giving everyone a universal basic income will not reveal most people’s inner Mozarts or Emily Brontës. At bottom, this is about two competing views of human nature. One view holds that once basic material needs are met, people will use their free time to seek meaning and fulfillment. Unshackled... from the burden of work, they will thrive. This is partly true. A small share of people would create, build, and explore. But for most, that is not what happens. When people are out of work, they do not spend their days painting or sculpting or learning another language. They scroll, they watch television, they play video games. Many advocates of UBI assume that people are simply waiting for the right conditions. Remove financial pressure, and they will pursue their creative passions. That may be true for a few. It is not true for most. Another view holds that meaning comes from the act of working. Earning your way, supporting yourself, and taking care of others provide structure and fulfillment. Effort, struggle, and self-reliance are not barriers to a meaningful life. They are part of what makes it possible. A society that removes the need to work risks removing one of the main sources of meaning in life.show more

This couple is having a wedding that will reflect who they are. They openly don’t seem to care if anyone will actually go or not. I think weddings are a celebration for everyone to join in for a special day. But I also think that offending guests before they even go might be a decision that will turn in a decision full of regret. So here’s my take on this. The way I see it is that they are going to be disappointed. I know others might argue and say that it’s selfish for the guests to not go because of the conditions set forth by the bride and groom, however it goes both ways. If they know guests won’t like the conditions of the wedding, then maybe they should compromise a little. I think they should give people options. I feel that this is going to show the bride and groom who is actually their real friends and who aren’t in their eyes. They won’t care if the guests don’t like the wedding rules, they are going to expect them to go because they think that their attendance shows that they care and that they are local.

Viktor Frankl: “Young people don’t need less tension. They need more meaning.” “Most of us have never been in the concentration camp experience. We’ve never had to go through that horror and tragedy. So one would think that today it would be easier to find meaning in life. And yet, I sense that it’s more difficult in a sense today than it was in years past.” Frankl explains the paradox of modern life: “We are living in a society, an affluent society, a welfare state that is virtually out to satisfy and gratify each and every human need except for one need: the most basic and fundamental need of man, the need for meaning.” He points to the hidden problem beneath comfort: “Consumer societies are even creating needs. But the need for meaning remains unfulfilled. It is what I have called the unheard cry for meaning.” Frankl argues that people are often taught to chase the wrong things: “You scarcely will find any reference to what is the most fundamental and basic concern of man—neither pleasure, nor happiness, nor power, nor prestige but originally and basically his wish, his desire, to find and fulfill a meaning in his life.” He explains what happens when someone truly sees meaning: “If there is a meaning to fulfill, if he becomes cognizant of such a meaning, then he is ready to suffer. Trump: I will not be abandoning the farmers. We are strong on the borders and for the farmers and others in the hotel industry. We have similar situations and Kristi and I will be working with the states and we will work something where the farmers and be responsible. They have had people around for 10 or 15 years and they know them well, we will put them responsible, and issue a form of card or documents and the farmer will be responsible for these people. They will not have citizenship but they will be working and paying taxes. We need to get our farmers the people they need or else the farmers will not be able to do their land. I upset the Orthobros on here when I posted that the Wilsons aren’t Christian. They said “how dare you declare whether or not someone is a Christian!” Here is my response (watch til the end for the most ironic part of all of this): Scripture itself tells us that it is OBVIOUS who is saved and that we can discern who is and who is not a child of God. “By this the children of God and the children of the devil are OBVIOUS: anyone who does not practice righteousness is not of God, nor the one who does not love his brother and sister.” 1 John 3:10 Yes, Christians will still continue to sin, as Romans 7 tell us. Sanctification is certainly messy, there’s no denying that. But someone who has been supernaturally made new by the Holy Spirit will have a real heart change. Regeneration is not an inconsequential experience. It will be obvious to people. The supernatural work of the Holy Spirit is a powerful one. Someone who is made a child of God will bear the family resemblance. No one can be born again and continue to comfortably stay in the mud with the pigs. They might occasionally still fall into the mud, they might still have dirt on their clothes even after they get up, but they will hate it when they do and will live in a humble manner before God crying “have mercy on me, a sinner.” They will pursue righteousness and have a deep deep love for others. And when they are confronted about their sin by others, they repent. So yes, we can look at someone living in a hateful unrighteous arrogant manner for years on end, even after being confronted about it, and determine that they are not of the Lord.

They’ll say “Passed away” and “Crossed over” NO. They DIED. They are D-E-A-D. The animating force that once occupied that body has left, and what remains is a rotting corpse. What you must understand is, advanced souls walk with certainty. With full knowledge of the immortality of their being. They understand that their body is just a vehicle. This is different to, and not to be confused with, a reckless and suicidal attitude. What we are talking about is a peaceful acceptance of the inevitable. Read that again. Not everybody that reads this will FULLY COMPREHEND what is being said here. You are IN this world but not OF this world. And those who walked with their spirits ILLUMINATED and BEAMING through… not being blinded by the body, embodied this. Death is peace. Death is release. Death is graduation. A very prominent African shared this video with me and joked, “…this is the best illustration of your people.” It is true that the real danger is not the fire; it is the blind obedience by the sheep. The real danger is no longer ZANUPF as far as the world is now concerned, it is the blind obedience we give it daily and our inability to see a way out of this mess. The same way these sheep are hopelessly made to go around a fire is the same way ZANUPF, and indeed the opposition, treats you. They throw out any useless idea, and you all run with it, regardless of how stupid it is. ZANUPF will tell you that sanctions have destroyed Zimbabwe, even as you witness their daily looting, and some fool will run with that cheap sanctions propaganda even when presented with figures of looted funds. Opposition supporters will be told that this time they do not need a constitution or structures, and they will still run with such a crazy idea, believing it will work. The real danger is the people’s inability to think for themselves and ask the right questions, instead of being shepherded into stupidity like sheep. A real man or woman doesn’t feel pity for being stupid when they find out, they fix the problem that created that stupidity and move on! They don’t defend being stupid, they realise their mistakes and remove the stupidity and become better people! In this video, a UK Indian restaurant owner and his partner are standing up against people who are pressurizing them to change their menu. They clearly state that they do not sell Halal food and they will not be forced to switch to it just because of pressure. The owners show damage to their shop and mention that this is the third attack in the last two weeks, where people have pelted their shop with eggs. The owner is very angry and says that no matter how much they are bullied or harassed, he will continue to sell non-Halal food. They claim that these attackers are trying to provoke them, but they won't be intimidated and will keep running their business their own way.

One of the most disheartening parts of "LawTube", is their complete willlingness to either gloss over the nuances of the law or misstate it all together to fit the narrative that they most benfit from ($). People want to be told what they want to hear and their reliance on that positive feeback loop is what makes these people money. It's not that they don't know these things, they do, but they are appealing to their own authority to cover up the glaring lapsed in their biased, commercially driven coverage. This is abundantly clear in the dogshit "analysis" already being thrown out there of the newly-filed defamation lawsuit against Karen Read and Aidan Kearney. Lawtube is quite simply lying to you because you want to hear that it is a losing case. It's not. Do your own research.

That story is not new. It is the oldest story in the book. It is not even uniquely American. For most of human history, that is the way society has worked. For somebody on top and somebody on bottom. There were lords and peasants. For a long time, that story of caste and privilege and concentrated power was the law of the land here in America. If you look like me, you were likely treated as property. If you were a woman, or a white man who did not own property, you could not vote.
