Glad I got to experience this America as a kid.

I miss this America so much, how did it come to this mess we have now?

There are high-trust enclaves still around in rural America where kids still get to live like this. They will slowly disappear though.

We use to play flag football next to the church and have a nice block party in the old grumpy lady would come out and serve ice cream. I miss block parties. I miss when the firetrucks were coming open the water hose for us. This is what I lived in a group in a central valley like I’m thankful that I got to experience being a kid I couldn’t really complain about my life, especially living in a group home. I had a roof over my head I got to live in a house and not in a facility I got fed. I got to go to school. I got allowance. I had everything that most kids in orphanage don’t get to have so I’m thankful that God gave me good and bad experience in life most important I got to experience childhood but not the way I wanted to. I had to grow up fast and that’s OK because I got to struggle. I got to serve my country and I know everything’s gonna be OK.

YES... Fond memories of trying to break my collar bone playing tackle football in the park with my buds dressed only in cutoff jeans and tennis shoes.
