The Sin Trade 追恶 [2026] Directed By: Cheng Siyi Finally caught up to this. Part of the new school of Action directors in Mainland China, Cheng Siyi has been making a name of for himself over the past few years. Especially with his 2024 film "Desperado". So far, this is his best output, since he got a fellow director and action choreographer to do the action direction for this film. And when you get a combo like that you sure are going to get a banger. Plenty of action in this film about human trafficking and with the case with Chinese DTV that's usually one of the themes they go with on thier output. Drugs, Human trafficking or Sniper Films, lol. This is currently streaming the West and East on iQIYI. This scene is edited BTW to cut out the drama.

100 Yards 门前宝地 [2024] Directed By: Xu Haofeng Following the same beats with his previous film the Final Master [2015] in settling disputes in the art of fighting. Xu Haofeng is one of the few action directors that does the action in using traditional styles and weapon usage in his films that are beautifully shot, composed and framed. You are not going to see hyper fighting, high wire action or MMA. This is old school, with methods displaying how to beat said style that makes you look back on how the counterattack was perform. Very reminiscent of what Bruce Lee was conveying in his short filmography to an extent. The fluid motions of the attacks, the setups and the fights having a very grounded approach truly makes this film shine and stand on its own from the rest that was released this year. This is truly Andy On's best on-screen film performance. Well Go USA Entertainment has the rights for this film and you know they will bless the Digital and Physical release of this film. Truly a remarkable year for them.

Twilight of the Warriors: Walled In [2024] Directed By: Soi Cheang Captured from the amazing and reference quality Blu-Ray from Well Go USA Entertainment that drops on November 19th. This is also getting a 4K release. This is a must own on 4K due to the fact this film was shot in 4.5K. The ATMOS track is the best I heard this year and utilizes the channels properly and the action is one of the best this year also in critics top three action films of the year. And to my fellow English Dub fans, an English Dub is included and is very solid. You can pre-order over at DiabolikDVD.com

Ikatan Darah [2026] Directed By: Sidharta Tata "A former martial arts athlete must face a network of loan sharks to save her younger brother, who is trapped in online gambling debt and risking their family’s safety" Film got a lot of love during its festival rounds especially at BIG BAD FILM FEST this past August. With veteran stunt performers and choreographers in the industry out in Indonesia from the likes of Yandi Sutisna, Erik Rukmana, and Rama Ramadhan. Expect to see that brutal violence that Indonesia Martial Arts Action films are known for. Considering the director has done horror films as well you see some good gore here. The lead actress, Livi Ciananta had a very good martial arts debut in the film "Bonnie 2024" a few years ago and was curious if she will do more action since her first few outings have been horror films. So, it was a joy to see her again in this film. The story might drag a little for some, but the action makes up for it and is just a fun overall film.

The Furious [2026] Directed By: Kenji Tanigaki Xie Miao, also known as Mo Tse, was part of two iconic films with Jet Li. New Legend Of Shaolin and My Father The Hero. Very well received films within the genre. He took a break to focus on his studies after his childhood acting career and did a few films after like the Champions in 2008 but after the late 2K10s he went back at full force and one of the most notable films are the Eye For An Eye franchise. Which in the second film he co-stars with Yang Enyou, who happens to be in this film as well. What makes this film special is the Hong Kong and Japanese connection. So, seeing Kensuke Sonomura choreograph traditional Chinese martial arts his eye opening and away from his comfort zone but still keeping his brawler aesthetic which he is known for which usually he flavors boxing and BJJ. With notable legends in this film like Joe Taslim, Yayan Ruhian and JeeJa Yanin where people might recognize this Thai actress from Chocolate we were sure to get a banger and we sure did. Especially from the amazing output form Brain Le and Joey Iwanaga.

La Città Proibita AKA The Forbidden City [2025] Directed By: Gabriele Mainetti Finally got to watch this and what a surprise this Italian film was. With choreography done by Trayan Milenov-Troy of Alpha Stunts and Emiliano Novelli of EAStunts (Not the gaming studio). I should have known this was going to bring the heat. Really dig the story of Mei played by Yaxi Liu (This is her first leading role but been doing stunts for a minute) on looking for his sister while captive we get to see the trials and tribulations different immigrant ethnic groups face in Italy. While the hunt for the truth is how the film starts of, we get a lot of character depth and background, motivations for said actions and what it is to be loved or not. Really a great film and you get at least five solid quality action scenes with one very epic one in this 2hr film. Now, the romance in this is great but one felt a little force, they had the buildup but rushed it. Two, they should have swapped one part of the finale with the earlier encounter before it got there. Overall, the ending was, how can I put it. It was sweet. Really loved this film, especially the freaking soundtrack. Great selection of classic Italian music and Chinese. Well Go USA Entertainment has acquired the rights for this film so be ready to get bless and massive thanks to thefanaticaldragon on the reminder of this film.

SLANG: YELLOW DOG [1999] Directed By: Kazuyoshi Ozawa Full RIP. Captured from a SONY S-Video VCR for the highest quality. With chapter markers, highlight and contrast adjustments. Audio is in PCM. One of the finest films by Kazuyoshi Ozawa (Also the lead) this film never got a DVD, and the VHS is very rare. This film is not on streaming services or anywhere online. Very Hong Kong inspired gunplay and a blast all round. This couldn't be possible without MOVIE FREAK who gifted me the VHS many years ago and H A S S A N & One Perfect HEADshot who donated on me getting a top of the line S-Video VCR from SONY a few years back. Share it everywhere and give credit. Jon W. (v2) Also make sure you have MEGA on your PC to bypass limitations.

The Dragon from Russia 红场飞龙 [1990] Directed By: Clarence Fok Another Hong Kong manga adaption based on Crying Freeman by the great Clarence Fok who gave us Naked Killer, Iceman Cometh, Gun & Rose and Martial Angels. While a lot of us got a soft spot for the Marc Dacascos 1995 film "Crying Freeman" This take during the peak on Hong Kong Cinema was amazing the on the films they produced, especially with adaptions like The Story Of Ricky-Oh. Plus, we get Maggie Cheung in this film which is always a bonus.

A Bronx Tale (1993) is one of those rare films that feels less like you’re watching a story and more like you’re being told one. Based on Chazz Palminteri’s real-life experiences and brought to life by Robert De Niro in his directorial debut, this is a movie about the choices that shape a life. And the people who shape those choices. ⁣ ⁣ It’s one of the most heartfelt, underrated films of the ‘90s. A masterclass in restraint. A love letter to fathers, sons, and the neighborhoods that raise us. Robert De Niro directed only two times but with this movie, he didn’t need to again. He said everything he had to say.
