Glenfinnan Monument is a moving tribute; framed by dramatic scenery, it's a breathtaking spot from which to imagine the day when one of the most important events in history began: the 1745 Jacobite Rising. > #ForTheLoveOfScotland

It’s spectacular from the air. I had a quick stop there on the way to Ardnamurchan and the weather was perfect 👌🏾

A stunning place, a must see if you are in the area.

If you venture under the viaduct to take pix wear wellies.

I love the memorial but a very curious about the small unregistered graveyard that sits close by. Some stones from the 18thC but nothing 🙋♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️🤷♂️

Hi Hugh, sorry for the delay. The burial ground for Glenfinnan parish and the MacDonalds of Moidart was for centuries on the Green Isle, about 12mi down Loch Shiel. But when sailings weren't possible, the deceased were interred in the small enclosure near Glenfinnan Monument

Been there.
