.Glenn Greenwald explains the frustration felt by many watching conservatives revert back to a post 9/11 way of thinking(after claiming to regret it), now happy to watch and cheer on the government again smashing civil liberty protections in the name of keeping the country safe.

@ggreenwald I'm pretty sure deporting or detaining criminal illegal aliens and deporting those who violate their visa conditions doesn't equate to a loss of civil liberties like that under Bush/Cheney. It's a bit of a strawman argument.

@ggreenwald Sorry, Glenn. Most Americans have no empathy with, or sympathy for, members of Foreign Terrorist Organizations. We also understand that allowing Courts to interfere with the process when we have 30+ million illegals to deport is a tactic to prevent it from happening.

@SystemUpdate_ @ggreenwald Deporting illegal aliens doesn’t violate American civil liberties. It protects them. When somebody illegally breaks into our country, the only thing they’re entitled to is a deportation. You’ve gone off the rails.

the problem with due process here is one of symmetry. the biden admin (illegally?) bulk imported millions of people from central and south america with no screening process, allowing in huge numbers of violent criminals. if they had properly screened these people, they never could have gotten as many imported. after zero screening on the inbound trip, we are now supposed to grant due process to every person who was bulk imported, which makes deporting them basically impossible. if someone gained entry to US via normal legitimate means, i'm all for due process because it is nominally symmetric. granting due process to every single violent criminal illegal immigrant not only makes no sense from a logistical perspective, it is acute asymmetric and practically blocks trump admin from exercising any real sovereignty over the immigration process.

@ggreenwald They didn't revert. Not everyone fell for their obvious ruse like the credulous Greenwald. WTF believes anything out of Trump's mouth?

Just like President Trump, when Republicans get knocked down we get back up again. Join Mammoth Nation TODAY to stand with America First conservatives.

@ggreenwald Absolutely right. The Trump admin is doing some things I very much want them to do. But just rounding people up without trial and sending them to El Salvador prison is plain wrong. What was so bad about deporting them to their home country?

@ggreenwald Despite Greenwald spelling it out such that even a 1st grader understands, comment section is filled with bots & foreign country supporters larping as "patriots" who insist that *this time* shitting on the constitution is justified, *this time* you should blindly believe gov

@ggreenwald Sucks to be Glenn after he hitched his wagon to the "free speech" Conservatives... 😂

@ggreenwald It’s even more annoying that conservatives who were all about calling out media lies now blindly believes the gov-approved narrative. The right and left both lack critical thinking skills when you find a topic they’re emotional about.
