Sharding across machines is increasingly a specialist concern; replication for fault tolerance, however, is still relevant at every scale. 3. Knowing system internals as a superpower for application developers. Martin maintains that Designing Data-Intensive Applications is not a book for people who build databases or even infrastructure, but it’s helpful for application developers to develop an intuition for making good design decisions and debugging performance issues we will eventually encounter.

The Trump administration signing a nuclear deal with Saudi Arabia while simultaneously fighting a war, which they claim is to prevent Iran from obtaining a nuclear weapon is peak Western hypocrisy. What’s really going on here is the US government is serving the interests of capital as this multi-billion-dollar deal establishes a framework for American corporations and billionaires to get rich off developing Saudi Arabia’s nuclear infrastructure. So why can Saudi Arabia (and Israel) have nukes but Iran can’t? Because Iran is one of the only countries in the region that actually resists US imperialism and Israeli genocide. It’s also important to point out that Iran was not close to obtaining a nuke. That’s just the lie they used to sell this war, which is also the same lie they used to sell the Iraq war. Now here’s most ironic part of all of this: If you actually want peace in the region (and world) then Iran should have a nuclear weapon because it is the only thing that will deter the United States and Israel from waging endless wars in the Middle East to steal oil and land as they have been doing for decades now.

#WATCH | Delhi: At the joint press conference with US Secretary of State Marco Rubio, EAM Dr S Jaishankar says, "India would be one of the very few countries who has very good relations, very strong relations with the United States, with Israel, with Iran, and with the Gulf countries. So we have real interest there. For us, the challenge in this situation is how to maintain all these relationships, how to protect our equities, how to advance our interests. We don't look at it as a zero-sum game. We have to manage and take care of all these accounts. I would say there are some general principles by which we would approach this region. Obviously, we want peace and stability in the region. For us, the welfare, the well-being of the diaspora is crucial. We want to see energy prices go down because we are a very big importer of energy, and much of it comes from that region. As I stated in my remarks, we are very much in favour of safe and unimpeded maritime commerce through the region. What we want to see is really the markets open up there. We don't want to see constraints. So these would be the principles with which we would approach that region and in a way, I think we will find increasingly in the world that there will be conflicts or difficult situations where India, because our interests are growing, we have relationships with all the parties involved, and we are seeing this in the Ukraine conflict as well, where we have very strong relations with Russia, Europe, Ukraine as well, we have it with the United States and then the question is how do you manage all of them.
