These sleep regressions can be especially pronounced in association with big breakthroughs in language and motor development. Learning to roll over and pull to a stand, for example, both offer your little one a whole new set of options in the crib. No longer immobile, now there are new abilities to practice… and new vantage points from which to view the world. I mean, who needs sleep when there’s a whole world to discover? Similarly the emergence of vocal experimentation and babbling offer new opportunities for bedtime amusement.
