@vers_laLune I'll give it another chance, but everyone I know who loves that book has depression problems.

The parts about people wearing masks to look better over video chat the becoming shut ins to avoid people seeing what they actually look like is prescient. The idea of the samizdat while people are literally skipping meals to watch stuff like tik Tok is just creepy.

All the parts mentioned are great but the Ebonics chapters and the radio station bit are god awful. DFW’s essays on Lynch and going on the cruise ship are very enjoyable and mercifully short. I think most people would find IJ excruciating at parts
