God, I love how this show did lore it was MASTERCLASS! Hell, we even see bits of reveals down the line. Like the hints of Rusty being a clone in the date on Venturion's view saying 1977, and Rusty looks about 10 years old, when in the Spanakopita episode... flashback we saw that Rusty was around the same age ten years earlier, in the late 1960s (when historically the wedding took place), I can freely believe it wasn't an error... Jonas cared about Rusty, but he was Jonas. In the Spanakopita episode, he took his revenge on the people of the island for perceived harm to Rusty. He helped create cloning with Ben to make sure that Rusty didn’t die mostly because Jonas couldn’t handle failure. The man was egotistical. He made everything about him, and that was his flaw as well. It tends to run in Ventures, and it is highly likely that Jonas had many, many children other than the Rusty clones. The man basically slept around more than an alley cat. I suspect Billy is one of his kids. He couldn’t admit failure he just buried it like MOTHER or the Helper Robots. That ultimately lead to his long death. If he had just sat down and admitted that he made a mistake with the Blue Morpho, he might have survived because he wouldn’t have been in the main room when Manstrong had his “accident.” And villains loved to hate Jonas because of his egotism. They wanted to bring him down. However, he did love Rusty as much as he could love anyone outside himself.

the best thing about this show is that it never took itself too seriously, but at the same time it did. it was a bit of a paradox in that way. it constantly made a parody of itself but it never contradicted itself, it stayed consistent.

It pissed me off how close they were to finding out that Rusty & Monarch are actually brothers, only for Prof. Venture to ruin it. I get it was done for drama, but still I would've loved to see the look on their faces at that revelation.

Everything is intentional. Hints at rusty being the last clone are all over, the tech he used on the boys all being his dad's, used on him. But it's clear Jonas cloned rusty for fame, not love.

Ok Ok, you've convinced me, I will buy the set and watch it all in order.

Venture Bros is a S-Tier show that constantly gets better the more you rewatch it. It's ability to create a perfect balance of action, comedy, and drama while making sure side characters get time to shine is proof of that.

This is what happens when you have a writers room comprised of only two guys who love comics with great talent. I've marathoned the Venture Bros three times and I always find something new.

Nearly over a decade of world building of the Venture universe really helped the Morpho Trilogy really stand out. Day one fans like myself were blown away by all of the revelations in all three episodes!

I laughed at the drug joke. I never watched this show but the joke gave me a good laugh
