Today we contemplate the incomprehensible sacrifice of Jesus Christ. The God of all the universe willingly accepted being nailed to a cross so that we would have access to eternity with Him. Gabe Poirot saw Jesus during his 18 days in a coma, and his encounter beautifully sums up what Good Friday is all about. Gabe had his head down in shame, but Jesus lifted his head and said: "𝗚𝗮𝗯𝗿𝗶𝗲𝗹, 𝘄𝗵𝘆 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗰𝗼𝗻𝗰𝗲𝗿𝗻𝗲𝗱 𝗮𝗯𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗮𝘁 𝘄𝗵𝗶𝗰𝗵 𝗶𝘀 𝗽𝗮𝗶𝗱 𝗳𝗼𝗿?” “And He showed me the wounds in His wrist, and they carried the depth of eternity,” Gabe told me. “And His wounds had a name — Gabriel — He did it just for me.” His wounds had Gabe’s name. His wounds have my name. His wounds have your name. Our sin nailed Him to a cross, and His sacrifice paved a path to eternity. Today, we praise Him. We thank Him for an act of love that defies logic and understanding.
