You are cringe if you would have slowed down to 5mph in this situation. There’s a red light ahead, traffic is clearly starting to move, there could be no other traffic behind this vehicle. You simply do not run across traffic like this, and if you do, you make damn sure the cars are going to stop. It’s sad but this is literally natural selection.
