I understand the pre swing movement. It can give you a running start. But to do all that and then freeze and start statically makes zero sense

it's obviously mental b/c he has never timed out on TGL. PGA would do well to start with a T clock. I think that would be easiest. Then add in a Greens clock. Fairway harder as it isn't stationary (ball could end up anywhere).

Well for my experience it doesn’t really matter because whole pgatour pace of play is slow if you play fast you gonna wait on next hole anyways. So let Patrick do his thing
