Also just keep being impressed by how much better all of this is getting. My two year old Macbook Pro can run deepseek 14B with great results at absolutely acceptable speeds. Where will we be in a year?

I know lots of people started using Rust for command line applications who previously used Python. Why? Really just because of distribution and packaging. uvx in particular feels really good. I routinely now try cool Python stuff without thinking much about it.

True if u just need the latest packages. Not true if u have to work in a monorepo with pixi and u have to use different versions. I still feel like setting stuff up takes sometimes longer then the actual mostly promted code…

uv is good it's still ruff around the edges I.e. integration with a bunch of other tools, which isn't completely clear (depandabot, renovate to name a few) But I'm switching lots of projects to us just uv And replaced my whole pyenv rig with it
