Gold shows the real inflation. The official inflation is a lie.

Lol. Only if you believe CPI is inflation. If you think global credit expansion in excess of productivity gains is inflation, it works out much better.

That’s against reported inflation. Gold is the real inflation

Official inflation is complete nonsense. If you take the M2 money supply in 1932, when an ounce of gold cost $20, and compare it to the current money supply, then proportionally (assuming the monetary standard is still in effect), one ounce should cost ~$12.000-13.000

This is kind of deceiving because a good way to judge where gold sits in relationship to purchasing power is in real estate. In 1915 it took around 150 to 160 ounces of gold to buy the average hole in 1935. It took right around 100 and today it takes anywhere between 90 to 105 ounces of gold to buy the average home. So although the increase in the price of gold has changed this substantially, the chart makes it look much more dramatic than it actually is.

Apparently, Gold is inflated by the US economy, and the US economy is inflated by its projections - so both are inflated. 😅

Gold vs inflation... NOPE What this is showing is the *devaluation* of currency in relation to gold. The more money you print the less it is worth and the more gold goes up. N0w if you print mor gold.... wait what! See how that works.

Gold price is reliably measured. Inflation measurement is a scam.

The graph is incorrect. When we look at it in relation to inflation, gold is showing $5083.

I would question the validity of that inflation measure.

This is gold vs. the official inflation numbers. I would argue gold is a MUCH better indication of what inflation actually stands at in real terms. The fed can say what it wants, the market actually determines pricing. And the market is sending a very strong signal to the world right now.

Both that inflation and the price of gold have been FAKE. Inflations statistics are outright lies, and gold has been suppressed using fake money and derivatives. It's a MUCH tighter wound spring than most realize - the numbers are ASTRONOMICAL. Higher than the mind can comprhnd.

The problem with this analysis is that CPI is a very narrow measure of inflation. It is also difficult to measure and governments have an incentive to under report it. You might reasonably argue the return on gold is actually a better long term inflation measure than CPI.

Everyone assumes gold hedges inflation perfectly, but have you checked the 2022 data? Real rates spiked and gold flatlined while inflation ran hot. The hedge works until it doesn't - timing matters more than the theory.

With this chart you have to trust the CPI to be accurate. Then you remember that entitlement payments and tax brackets are based on official CPI, so if it’s underreported the government gets to spend less and collect more in purchasing power terms.
