gonna skip some steps here but in short, I've been working with him for a few days and this tough guy has turned into a big ol baby 😭 he's nervous but it's obvious that he wants to trust humans and is longing for comfort

well I have some developments to share for anyone who remembers Boots, the misleadingly friend-shaped feral guy I TNR'd last year and have been feeding and begging to let me touch him this whole time to no avail

he got his butt kicked in a fight and wasn't bouncing back in the timely manner he was allotted, just seemed weak and feeling crummy, so I trapped him again to get him some vet care this past weekend

*some* cats are too smart to go into a trap at all. *most* cats are too smart to be trapped twice. and then of course we have our dear Boots. anyway

now that I had him again and he seemed somewhat tamer after being balless for the past year and a half, it was my destiny to get this guy to like me given that he tried to kill everyone so hard that he broke his own teeth last year, I started with gentle pets with a stick

then we discovered our love of churu

Boots had an abscess from a cat fight on his shoulder which was causing a lot of pain, that's been fixed up. Labwork showed he's pretty anemic which explains why he was looking extra crummy 😔 so I'm working on that. and he's also FIV+.

I'm so glad that Boots is ready to turn in his feral card, and being able to finally pet his big head, comfort him, and hear him purr after feeding him and loving him from afar for the past couple years is such a good feeling 🥹

One of my Fave cats was a street fighter rescue aptly named DUMPSTER (as that’s where we found em, ) pure muscle. Needed to wear welding gloves to de-flea him. Had One eye. But he came to love / add us to his protection racket ( god help the dog that approached us). Rip

Tuxedos are crazy but babies and need extra love. Im glad you figured that out.
