well I have some developments to share for anyone who remembers Boots, the misleadingly friend-shaped feral guy I TNR'd last year and have been feeding and begging to let me touch him this whole time to no avail

he got his butt kicked in a fight and wasn't bouncing back in the timely manner he was allotted, just seemed weak and feeling crummy, so I trapped him again to get him some vet care this past weekend

now that I had him again and he seemed somewhat tamer after being balless for the past year and a half, it was my destiny to get this guy to like me given that he tried to kill everyone so hard that he broke his own teeth last year, I started with gentle pets with a stick

Boots had an abscess from a cat fight on his shoulder which was causing a lot of pain, that's been fixed up. Labwork showed he's pretty anemic which explains why he was looking extra crummy 😔 so I'm working on that. and he's also FIV+.

I'm so glad that Boots is ready to turn in his feral card, and being able to finally pet his big head, comfort him, and hear him purr after feeding him and loving him from afar for the past couple years is such a good feeling 🥹

One of my Fave cats was a street fighter rescue aptly named DUMPSTER (as that’s where we found em, ) pure muscle. Needed to wear welding gloves to de-flea him. Had One eye. But he came to love / add us to his protection racket ( god help the dog that approached us). Rip

Aaron Boone was asked if he considered starting Jose Caballero at shortstop tonight and what he's made of Anthony Volpe's at-bats recently: "I felt like Volp went through a tough stretch there for a few weeks, a month. Feel like on the road trip, started to swing the bat well again, several in a row, and then has had a few games here where he's struggled. Offensively, just finding that consistency has been the challenge for him. It is something I considered, but also believe and hope that his best days are here for us down the stretch and hopefully on into October. We saw that last year from him, how good he was for us in October, so we know he's capable. We've got to help him get there and just find more consistency. That's been a challenge."

It Took him a few attempts. But with practice and patience he's just gotten the blue gem. There's a few pauses in here because he'd stop and ask for advice. But he did this all by himself. Early days, he's making progress. He was super happy at the end. Proud of you Tiny Man. :)
