This morning, I addressed workers in Ibadan who joined the Nigeria Labour Congress protests. I assured them that we will continue to work in the best interests of the good people of Oyo State. I also stated that contrary to the NLC Chairman’s statement this morning, our administration has been paying a wage award of N25,000 to workers and N15,000 to pensioners since October 2023.

We promised them that we will bring the EFF TG, Commissar Omphile Maotwe, who is championing it. Outsourcing is the most exploitative and cruel practice in our public institutions. Only the corrupt, who want to benefit from tenders, will support outsourcing while workers receive slave wages and abusive treatment. The EFF Bill will ensure that workers are insourced, and receive full benefits. It’s time to empower our people directly, not ANC Tenderpreneurs.
