Why not blame the whole army? Each one of them violate their oath, go against the constitution of Pakistan and principles of Quaid e Azam. They have collectively damaged Pakistan more than any enemy ever could. In 1971 they broke Pakistan and today they are again trying the same.

On this Memorial Day we remember those who have given their lives in the service of this nation, and we hold in our hearts the families and loved ones they left behind. For those of us who wore the uniform in combat, this is a day where we remember our friends and comrades who made the ultimate sacrifice. We remember them as they were: sons and daughters, husbands and wives, mothers and fathers. And we rededicate ourselves to living good lives, not to waste the opportunity to live on they gave us with their sacrifice. The willingness of some young Americans to sign the dotted line and risk their futures for the good of the nation is a resource we must jealously guard. It cannot be abused and squandered by those in power for their own benefit. The best way to honor the dead is to make sure future generations are not sacrificed for no reason. Semper Fidelis.

I want to recognize the six heroic 3rd Infantry Division Soldiers who acted without hesitation. In the face of danger, they ran toward it—risking their lives to stop the shooter and protect their fellow brothers and sisters in arms. Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, NI (M), HJ, COAS & CDF as the chief guest conferred the awards to the families of shuhada, officers and soilders in recognition of exceptional gallantry in operations and distinguished services rendered to the nation. Decorations conferred included 50 Sitara-i-Imtiaz (Military) and 12 Tamgha-i-Basalat. Medals awarded posthumously were received with honour by families of Shuhada. Paying tribute to the Shuhada and Ghazis, the Field Marshal stated "Shuhada and Ghazis remain the enduring pride of the nation. Their honour and sacrifice are a sacred trust for every Pakistani.
