Steve is an unsung hero holding the line. I bet she brought that dog in before and it crapped all over the dining room

What service does it provide, mauling stray kids and small dogs?

Enough people have abused the service animal aspect of the ADA that we should probably create a registry/licensing system to filter out the scam artists. I don't want to eat my dinner around other people's dogs unless they truly, truly need them.

Service dogs have harnesses and the owners do have certification cards. People are ruining it for those with actual disabilities by claiming every animal is a service animal.

All I really got from this is that we need a law licensing service dogs. The fact that someone doesn’t have to provide any proof is ridiculous.

In the United States, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), owners of service dogs are not required to provide paperwork or documentation to prove their dog is a service dog when accessing public places. Businesses and staff can only ask two questions: (1) Is the dog a service animal required because of a disability? and (2) What work or task has the dog been trained to perform? No certification, registration, or other proof is mandated. In the United States, under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA), a restaurant generally cannot refuse service to someone with a service dog, as service dogs are permitted in public places, including restaurants, where their handlers are allowed. Steve might lose his job if she truly complains. 🤷🏻‍♀️
