This very moment in the comics had him demonstrate almost divine abilities, instantly healing wounds on the injured around, becoming living lightning, redirecting velocity, sapping inertia or adding it. When Wally takes what he's doing seriously, he's TERRIFYING.

FYI they manage to pull him back shortly after this. He doesnt die here, but the speed force almost claims him for good.

If I were a speedster, I'd definitely carry around a sledgehammer for situations like that. I expect that whacking someone with a ten pound hunk of hardened steel at the speed of sound would be more effective than punching them.
