I finally figured out the muscle up! My technique isn’t perfect but I can do it and I’ll keep working on it. A year ago I was using bands to do full range pull ups, now I can add up to 25kg (55lbs) to my weight. Keep going. 💪

Sooooo I just saw all the workout critics 🤡 on my butterfly pull-ups. Butterfly pull-ups are done in CrossFit workouts and should not be done unless you have good shoulder mobility and can complete at least 5 strict pull ups without fatigue. I also train strict pull ups during other training sessions. Always make sure you go down all the way to straighten your arms before pulling up again. And chin over the bar at the top. But more importantly I encourage everyone no matter how old you are or what level fitness you are at, always try to train and exercise to stay strong and healthy so you can live your best life and be the best version of you. Don’t sit on the couch and be a hater. We have enough of that!

Today I did 1200 push ups… #GSET When I was hustling in 2019 to reach my goal of getting a contact, I was doing 3 workouts a day, training in ring and at one point I was doing 1000 push ups a day. I started a new workout goal this week and decided I need to up my hustle and tap into the version of me that wanted something so badly I sacrificed everything. Monday - Thursday I reached 500 per day, today I wanted 600. When I got to 600, I realized I was so close to 1000. When I got to 1000 I told myself I need to set a new bar for myself. 1200 is that new bar. Proud to say I did that. My body doesn’t look how it once did, and I can’t move how I once moved, but for what I can do, I will challenge myself at every chance I get. Greatest Story Ever Told

In less than 4 weeks, I am going to be 50 years old. When I turned 40, I could not do a single pull-up, or even hang from a bar, and my push-ups were ugly AF. It can be done!

Make pull ups a primary exercise. Train all sets to failure and vary your grip every workout to hit different angles. When I started I could only do 1 rep per set so I did 50 sets of 1 rep until my body adapted. Today my typical session looks like 12, 10, 8, 8, 6, 6 reps for 50 total. A few notes for elite form: > Keep your entire core tight through every rep up and down. > Feel your lats pulling on your abs on the way up. > Exhale on exertion and inhale on the descent. Mix in negatives occasionally for controlled slow descents that build serious strength. The pull up builds a thick back, v-taper, grip, core and delts all in one movement. A hard body demands pull ups.

Some of you all know that where I work, we build basketball courts. We make high school up to NBA as well as some international. Below you’ll see some of the floors we’ve done recently that I can show My job is in the finishing department and is to sand, seal and paint the floor to make it look beautiful! You remember when Stephen Curry found a dead spot? ( not our court) yeah my job is to prevent that💪

People always ask me how I’m so good at pull ups given I’m 280+ pounds. My simple answer is bc I started treating them and training them just like my barbell strength exercises. Here are 3 variations to improve muscle density and strength The key IMO got real density should start at training muscles at end range. There are 3 approaches that I use and that I program for others. First, you’ll see a traditional rep. The important thing is the rep is using full range of motion. The traditional rep allows me to utilize the stretch shortening cycle to improve my elastic strength. Next, you’ll see me using Deadhang Pull Ups. Think of this like a paused rep on bench or squat. You are eliminating the stretch shortening cycle and improving rate of force development WHILE your feet are suspended and the lats are fully loaded and have tension. This is a key distinction from the 3rd approach Power Pull Up. This is the same idea the I use on the Power Row, or some may be more familiar with the Pendlay Row. The difference you will see is I’m standing on a pad. This allows me to pause at the bottom BUT my lats are lengthened but UNLOADED. There’s no weight or tension when I start and initiate my pull up. You’ll even see I remove my fingers completely got each rep Using the all together in an intelligent program that organizes stress and variation appropriately is the key to maxing your pull up potential.

Zach LaVine says he wanted No. 14 as an NBA rookie, then saw 300 pound Nikola Peković doing sets of 25 pull ups and decided not to ask for it “I couldn’t wear eight. I used to wear number 14, my dad’s number, and I wore it in college too” “So I tried to get 14 in the NBA my rookie year. Peković had number 14. I didn’t ask him” “He’s a 300 pound dude from Montenegro and he’s doing sets of 25 pull-ups. I’m not asking that dude… So I just chose eight because I was a Kobe fan”

“If you could talk to yourself in 2025, when everything was difficult. What would you say?” LH: “I would say continue to believe in yourself. Remember who you are, like my fans told me. And I think that ‘don’t forget who you are’ part was really, one of my hardest moments of my life, to be honest. To re-discover that and get myself back in that place, I couldn’t have done it without my fans.” ❤️
