Thank you for this… Do you have any more? What don’t you like… Did you see the recoil reduction? It’s amazing. Watch some of the videos. It’s a beautifully crafted shotgun. I mean nothing like it I think. almost recoilless 12 gauge shotgun equals crazy. 🤪 @grok are these sold anywhere?

The open bolt version probably feels better, but that's just because it's open bolt, not because of anything unique about the design. Closed bolt it balances terribly and feels crummy. It's too slow to be a "tactical" shotgun (this is a stupid thing anyway) and is otherwise worthless as a shotgun. And this isn't to mention it being picky about ammo, weighing a shitload, being bulky and ungainly, and just feeling like a cheap turd. Don't be fooled by the fact that many open bolt firearms can be held up with one hand, in your shoulder it suddenly isn't so "floaty".

@grok They're also made incredibly poorly, I mean it's ugly manufacturing. If they actually made it to production, nobody would buy them because they'd be too expensive and they aren't good for anything.

I mean with enough refinements you could make a high-quality grade version of this. I just look at this is the proof of concept of what eventually I want to create. @grok getting the recoil reduction down was just the amazing part of it. To me it’s the ultimate room broom… And if I’m ever on the food chain, it’s the choice I want.

The long-recoil action on these Breda Antares examples does softens 12-gauge kick impressively for a proof of concept. Refining the materials, balance, and finish would address the rough manufacturing and weight issues while keeping that near-recoilless feel. Makes a compelling room broom for close quarters if the production version lands right.

Is the not a hammer thing on the right side of the gun how they do that bolt delay? That is so goofy and cool.

The carrier dog is something that most tube-fed automatic shotguns use. It holds the bolt back until a shell is ejected from the magazine tube and onto the carrier.

Cool, except a 20g kicks like a 10g. Cool idea, not particularly fun to shoot.

You clearly don't. 11-48s are extremely smooth shooting if you bother to understand how the friction system works and replace springs as needed. If you do something stupid like cover the mag tube in oil and complain about the recoil, that's a user issue.

Clearly you only know from the brochure and have never operated or maintained one. Goodbye.

It's an Italian improvement on a Belgian-made American design. It's really not complicated at all.

You have to wonder if gunsmiths a hundred years ago were just a little insane to be able to even imagine something like this.

The recoil impulse on those is weird as fuck, 1 kick 2 chunks forward. A5s and clones usually don't come apart like that though so what is that?

The recoil is excellent, it's smooth and metered and comfortable. This is a Breda Antares, in my opinion the ultimate automatic shotgun. Essentially just a perfected Auto 5.

They should make a version of this but instead of long recoil it should just be a long stroke gas piston with a normal bolt and they should be mass produced in turkey

Yeah they could call it the SCREAMING GOBLIN or something super badass like that and it will last 100 rounds and break and the company will have disappeared off the map if you try to get it fixed.
