You have got Hamilton completely wrong. He and his mother were abused by his jewish stepfather, who had his mother imprisoned for adultery after he abandoned her but later returned... from which Alexander developed a lifelong loathing for slavery and a love for liberty. As an officer and close aide to George Washington, a young Hamilton was involved in many of the precarious battles with Washington, and he personally led one of the attacks on an outpost or redoubt of the British defenses at Yorktown. No one at the time disputed his personal bravery. After the American Revolution was won, he was a genius who realized that without the colonies working together as one, they would be picked off by hostile foreign empires - as the British would try to do in the war of 1812 - so they HAD TO UNITE under a system that forced each of them to surrender some of their independence and powers - this is the federalism that made America possible. The Constitution which Hamilton helped get ratified is one of the few documents in human history which guarantees rights for the citizens and despite the 3/5ths Compromise legalizing slavery - a necessary evil to get the southern states to join the union - our federal, Constitutional form of government would eventually lead to the outlawing of slavery. Hamilton as first Treasury Secretary establishe the financial system that would keep the union going through early troubles and conflicts, and in particular he hired - poached - engineers from Britain's textile industry to establish textile factories in New England which became the core of America's industrial production... And yes, early factories used children as slave labor, but without those factories THAT ALEXANDER HAMILTON WAS A GODFATHER OF, America would not have had the economy to keep moving forward. The worst sin against Hamilton was the Whiskey Rebellion, where he taxed farmers for turning grain into whiskey so they could get cash, which was scarce in rural western America - a revolt brutally put down my President Washington leading an army in to western Pennsylvania with Alexander Hamilton at his side. But America desperately needed finances in those early years, and farmers turning grain to alcohol are still taxed by the federal government to this day.
