Good on you. Cashless stores shouldn’t exist.

Legal tender means legitimate currency that must be accepted by merchants.

Like that's legal tender. You HAVE to accept it. It's not an option lmao unless you send it and outlaw legal tender, you have to take it.

Isn't the store free to accept whatever kind of payment they want? Isn't that what freedom is?

Yeah well living in rural Canada I've had the exact opposite-- elderly people running shops, and they refuse to take anything but cash; that's equally asinine in this day and age.

People really don’t understand what Legal Tender is. Just because it’s Legal Tender it doesn’t have to be accepted that’s up to the stores desecration

Cash is legal tender, it has to be accepted.

Cash is legal tender anywhere. I hate that concert venues get away with this, but I guess it keeps them from getting stolen from. It shouldn't be allowed.

The final question in a police interview for theft is: "Did you make any attempt to pay for the item"

So just to be clear the employer doesn’t trust the employees and would rather take a form of payment that reduces profit by 3% or more. Got it.

All for the worthless things those coins are! Coins are not cash anymore! In USA they removed all silver from coins- in 1982 all copper out of Pennie’s. The coins cost more to stamp than their worth. Canada stopped stamping Pennie’s in 2012! It took America 13 yrs later!

Piers is as mad as a box of frogs. But I can’t help chuckling at, not only is he insisting on paying in cash but he’s made a point of ensuring there’s a pile of copper in it. 🤣🤣🤣

Legal tender means its something you can pay your taxes with and pay debts owed from contracts unless the contract stipulates payment in another form. No store has to accept your legal tender. This also goes for Scottish bank notes in England even when they accept BoE notes.

If I'm spending less than 300$, I use cash. If you don't take cash, stick your business up your ass.

What a fucking head case. Just for all the other morons out there, “legal tender” categorically does not mean everyone has to accept it. If a business has chosen to go cashless, as many do these days, you MUST respect that. Otherwise it IS stealing. What a fucking prick

A private business can do whatever they want, if you don’t like it then shop somewhere else.

I get it from a business standpoint. I work at a place that had, on several occasions, was given counterfeit 20s. Also, employees are idiots and can’t count.
