The most poignant and best ending to any TV show/series I have ever seen.

Undoubtedly one of the finest moments of TV. From slapstick comedy to such a poignant scene was genius and will live on for countless years to come.

This was the perfect end episode, Darling finally joining the front line he'd been avoiding, George finally understands the gravity of war, Baldrick finally has a cunning plan and most of all Blackadder finally becomes the courageous, dutiful leader...perfect

I absolutely loved Blackadder growing up. The end sequence to goes forth still has me speechless. Amazing how you can be laughing one minute then utterly in shock the next.

It’s really haunting when the whistle blows, what must have those lads thought, truly saddening to look around now, why and what for sounds louder than that whistle

35 years later and it’s ending still packs the same emotional punch alongside being one of the of the funniest and poignant episodes of television.

Top that, as they say. A wrenchingly brilliant finish.

One of the best episodes of any series, anywhere, ever. Should be played on every channel on November 11th at 11:00
