Nice work. Is this Solar API data just a single GeoTIFF or several stitched together? I haven't had a chance to use the API yet but just wanted to get an idea of the area a single GeoTIFF covers (10m^2, 100m^2, etc...)

there are a few different layers, and each of them have different resolutions:

Did you make the tiles or is this the 2.5D stuff they have available?

This is what's available from them. Still in beta I believe, though. Takes quite a while for them to load.

🗺️ The Google Maps Photorealistic 3D tiles API is here! Now anyone can *remotely* create #AR location-based experiences. We’ve been experimenting with this new capability in our🤳mobile and 🥽 immersive apps. It’s game-changer for creators and businesses! Here’s an iPhone demo

This is pretty cool 👓 Google Announces Geospatial Creator powered by ARCore & Google Maps and it allows you to visualize, design, and publish world-anchored content by using Unity ! Few features available: 📌 Photorealistic 3D Tiles: Visualize the 3D geometry of the world and deploy location-anchored content accurately with high-resolution, photorealistic 3D tiles. 📌 Geospatial anchors: Place and anchor 3D content at any given latitude, longitude, and altitude with sub-meter accuracy in areas covered by Google Street View. 📌 Terrain anchors: Place and anchor 3D content with only latitude and longitude coordinates, using data from Google Maps to determine ground level. 📌 Rooftop anchors: Use rooftops to place and anchor 3D content with respect to the building geometry and terrain in areas covered by Google Street View. 📢 To get started with Unity follow these steps: #AR #Google

Nope, I disagree. Google Maps' 3D view is actually insane.💀 Apple Maps may have better visuals, but being able to literally fly under the Brooklyn Bridge on Google Maps is insanely CRAZY. 🤯

Combine Google Maps 3d tiles and Luma gaussian splat scans via A-Frame / Three.js for high fidelity at tiny scale AND zoomable out to city scale all in the browser. 🙏 🎏Glitch hosting, PlayCanvas splat editing, NYTimes R&D 3dtiles component

GeoLibre now supports rendering Google Photorealistic 3D Tiles! GeoLibre is a free and open-source, lightweight, cloud-native GIS platform for visualizing, exploring, and analyzing geospatial data. It runs everywhere you do, in the web browser, on the desktop, on mobile, and inside Jupyter notebooks, all while keeping your data local and private. Try it out with your own Google Maps API key: - Launch GeoLibre web: - GitHub: - Documentation: #GIS #Geospatial #OpenSource #RemoteSensing #MapLibre #GeoLibre

Got 2nd place in the Google DeepMind SG hackathon! I built a webapp that converts 2d topo maps into 3d colourful renders + lets you fly through and ask gemini live api what you're looking at.

Check out this BIM 4D sim by Thiery Peleias, owner of Virtuart4d 🚧 Imported into UE5 for the animation aspect, the project model was created in Revit, the 4D planning animation in Synchro 4D Pro and the environment captured from Cesium with Google Maps Photorealistic 3D Tiles!

Grounding with Google Maps is now available in the Gemini API📍The new feature connects the reasoning capabilities of Gemini models with the real-world data of Google Maps (from 250 million places) allowing devs to build a new class of geospatial-aware AI apps.
