No, Google did not warn Android users. We work with Google to fix reported bugs and improve software for both WhatsApp and Android - exactly how responsible security work helps everyone. This issue was fixed late last year.

Thanks for the clarification!

What's your preferred messaging platform for privacy and security?

I think instead of activating Whatsapp security measure, I am starting to wonder if Whatapp is even worth it anymore... maybe the best protection is to just not use it and delete it

Good job I dont use that crap. Best messengers for privacy are Session and simplex. Neither require phone number to use which is the one issue with Signal.

More found #vulnerabilities? Zak Doffman's article on @Forbes details how to reproduce this reported vulnerability ... hopefully on versions of @WhatsApp that are now #deprecated. At least we can be thankful the #community laid it out.

BBC has a UK police officer demonstrated in front of camera that they can view all messages in Signal from a phone which is password-locked!

Signal by far. There are even more private alternatives, but don't offer a good user experience to be adopted by the masses as signal does. Perhaps in emergency situations I will reconsider that choice.

I’ll trying hard to bring down WhatsApp won’t work We love it

It’s all working to plan and we follow like sheep ! Who gives a F , Don’t be dependent on something that can be switched off in an instant AI is a control construct you don’t need it to live a happy life 🤡🌎🐺😂

Google?! The data mining all your personal info-google? Hahahah

Thank you for sharing sir !!

No

I would tell you, but that information is private

There’s an absolutely universal solution, but the world just doesn’t know it yet. Kindle Store: Other Stores:

@WhatsApp you have to sue them for making fake news.

@RedPandaKoala this is why I screenshot images and never download. I’ve been doing it this way for years, but it’s still amazes me How many people just download all kinds of shit onto their phone.

WhatsApp ist just a virus incubator just as Window$ And as useful as papilla mammaria of a male. My choices are Linux SimplexChat Session and Signal

Do you realize that there are countless on the map of the world where everybody uses WhatsApp. If you download Signal, you will be chatting with yourself.

Safe way to message anyone

I know that, this is old news. Photos have been used to infect phones via Whatsapp for some years now. The user doesn't even know he got a virus. The jpg itself it is a container for malware. A known malware it's a banking malware spreading through JPGs

what😅

This warning is a massive breach of privacy and security. Google knows WhatsApp is a dumpster fire, but they do fuck all. Maybe people should wake up and stop blindly trusting these tech giants with their data.

Can zero-day spyware infect via WhatsApp Status views?

I stopped using Whatsapp years ago. Never looked back. Signal has been great!

Self hosted. Element X

The "expert" puts in one line together Signal and Telegram. What a shame.

Signal or Session

Anything digital or online..I dony trust a bit.

Security recommendation about a spy from an other spy...

The best messaging app is @keet_io by @Holepunch_to true P2P private chat... check them out.

Good shot Mr Bombal 👏

Don't you ever get tired of trying to discredit WhatsApp messenger app for no justifiable reason? You keep fooling around discrediting and they keep growing. Billions of people are okay with and trust WhatsApp. If you're not, try to get a job. Doing this won't help your misery.
