Googles NotebookLM's new podcast feature is wild This is made from a 90min lecture I held on Monday It condensed it into a 16 minute talkshow Some hallucinations here and there, but overall this is a new paradigm for learning. Link to try it below, no waitlist

I love how they take turns being the expert. The man might pose a question, which the woman echos with some casual agreement, and then the man answers. Also happens vice versa

Yes, whatever goes on behind the scenes here is mad. I fed it context, slides, notes, and my outline for my lecture. Not the lecture itself, nor the transcript of the lecture. It's crazy really.

Just checked. Feels like magic. This feature honestly helps me a lot in my learning than a chatbot.

Yes, exactly this, and Google also demoed during I/O that you'll be able to interrupt the host at any point and asking questions.

These conversations are interesting, but what is the retention on these videos? It’s a big leap for the industry, but they still feel a little flat and dull, making 16mins hard to sit through. Eager to see the tipping point when listening feels more natural, like a podcast.

Yeah agreed, given the trajectory here tho, I feel we are months or max years away from this working with any voice, from any person. This will be huge for learning.

Thanks for trying it! Can you DM me some of the hallucinations you saw? We’re collecting feedback, like yours, to fix those.

Tried a few cases with it, I'm very surprised that people are not discussing it. I mean, the content needs some ( not that much) improvement, but the voice, the tone....I don't think anyone would think that's generated by 1-click if not told so.
