Stop accelerating down the mound. I’m sure you’ve heard the cue to accelerate down the mound. Get down the mound quickly. The mistake most people make, and the mistake I made when I was 16, was trying to force it. I was throwing slow, around 78 to 80 miles an hour. I thought I had to push off the rubber as hard as I could to accelerate my body down the mound. When I made the jump to throwing 90 plus to 95 as an 18 year old, the big change I made was this. Instead of pushing off the rubber to accelerate my center of mass down the mound, I let gravity pull me into the ground. That matters because when gravity pulls you into position without pushing, your back leg stays loaded and under you. Now the back leg can work underneath you. It can rotate you and pull the pelvis open. That pulls the spine and then propels the arm. The goal isn’t to force speed down the mound. The goal is to let gravity set up the back leg so it can accelerate the pelvis, which pulls the spine into the throw.

My favorite way for Fluoro-guided pericardiocentesis learnt from @HeartDrHanna 1-90 degree lateral (you can get fairly quick) 2-Identify xiphoid under x-ray with your finger 3- needle of choice filled with 100% contrast (my fav is micropuncture in small pts and spinal in large pts) 4-Cine-identify heart border (white) 5-Go subxiphoid, aimed for left shoulder with intermittent pull and inject tiny amount of contrast (stain your way) 6-Once in, you will pull back fluid and you will inject contrast that will line the heart border (shown below) 7-insert long wire and let wrap around the heart to confirm. 8-now can use echo for further confirmation #ACCFIT #ACCIC #Cardiotwitter #CardioED

Low carb is a disaster for strength. Everyone knows this. No carbs, no glycogen. No glycogen, no power. The textbook is very firm on the matter. Your muscles run on glucose. Take it away and they simply down tools. The brain needs sugar too. Skip the morning porridge and you can barely tie your shoes, let alone train. You cannot build an ounce of muscle without an insulin spike. Ask any fitness magazine. You will bonk. You will hit the wall. You will crumple into a sad little heap of steak and regret. Six long years I have soldiered on under this crippling handicap. Beef, eggs, butter, and not one energy gel to my name. Depleted. Under-fuelled. A pale ghost of the carb-loaded athlete I might have been. All of which explains why I can only just about manage a 210kg Romanian deadlift. God knows what I could pull if I ate a banana.

The simplest way I think about the lower body: The simplest way I think about my lower body mechanics goes like this. I’m in leg lift and shifting my weight a little bit. This is called the drift. As I shift my weight, all I need to do is let gravity pull me into the throw. That's what accelerates me down the mound. But I can't just continue to sink down. There is a stabilization that happens with the back leg. After this stabilization, I fire everything into rotation. My knee, hip, and foot all fire into rotation. This creates the separation between the pelvis, which yanks my spine into the throw. All of this happens subconsciously. You need to be able to do that subconsciously. You can't think about these things on the mound. If you start to think about them, which happen in milliseconds, it's too slow, and the result just isn't going to be as good.

I think as always it’s fair to talk about the good and the bad with each new version of FSD that comes out. It feels like FSD V14.2.2.4 is still struggling with speed control. I spent the majority of my drive tonight in standard and I found that on most straight stretches of road the car was going under the speed limit by a considerable amount (15kmh at times) Here’s a raw clip of the car driving between 60-67 kmh in a 70kmh zone with zero cars around it to slow it down. The road is well lit with traffic lights, so I don’t really see any reason at all to be driving this way. Let me know what you all think.

Under the scorching heat, she waited over four hours just to access free medicine through the Yakap program. The lines were long, the process slow, and the suffering visible—especially among our seniors and persons with disabilities. This is not an isolated case. This is the daily reality in many government hospitals. We must speak truth to power: • The Department of Health under Secretary Herbosa has failed to deliver dignified, efficient, and compassionate care. • PhilHealth is being defunded while case rates for top killer diseases remain dangerously low. • Ghost hospitals and alleged corruption continue to plague our system. • The poor are left to endure misery while officials remain silent or dismissive. This is not just incompetence—it is a betrayal of public trust. We call on the President, lawmakers, and health advocates to act now: • Streamline access to essential services in OPDs nationwide. • Increase funding for PhilHealth and raise case rates for heart disease, cancer, stroke, pneumonia, and diabetes. • Remove VAT on essential medications. • Investigate and prosecute corruption in the health sector. • Restore dignity to every Filipino seeking care. It's here! All power assets are now live on my GB Renewables Map ⚡ That's right, it's not just wind farms any more. Now you can see live and historic data for gas power plants, nuclear, grid batteries, biomass, pumped hydro and even a bit of solar. Wind farms are still the default for now, though you can enable as many or as few of the other fuel types and your selection will be remembered when you come back to the website. It's already live so go play for yourself here: There are numerous other updates as well: ⛔ Click the plug button to see a curtailment view, now including turn-up and a better visual representation of turn-down and turn-up actions ℹ️ Tooltips include loads more detail about fuel type and balancing actions ☢️ Each fuel type can be toggled using the map buttons 🧠 Map state is remembered when you reload or revisit the website ✨ Lots of new and under construction power assets are now on the map ↕️ Summary of balancing actions at the top of the map 🚦 Grid boundaries and constraints shown using a traffic light system And I'm only getting started! Fernando Tatis Jr is hitting .242 with a 3.5° average launch angle and a career-low 20% pull rate. Everyone has ideas and analysis on how to fix Fernando Tatis Jr’s swing. It’s pretty awful and I can’t take anymore of this, I have to say something because I haven’t seen a single person give the right answer. I’ve seen multiple people talk about timing mechanisms like toe tap, stride, and leg lift in his swing mechanics that have absolutely nothing to do with his problem. That reverting to past timing mechanisms would somehow help him. THEY ARE ALL WRONG Because they’re all looking in the wrong place. This isn’t a stride problem or timing problem. It’s a tilt problem. Stride, leg lift, and toe tap are timing mechanisms. They control WHEN the hips fire not HOW the bat moves through the zone. A hitter with a Sosa leg kick and a no-stride Ichiro stance can produce identical launch angles.Timing has no lever that touches the bat at contact. What actually sets launch angle is attack angle or the vertical direction the bat is traveling at the moment it meets the ball. Swing up through the zone = ball lifts Swing flat = grounders Swing down = choppers Attack angle is the only mechanical input that matters for elevation and attack angle isn’t random. It’s a direct output of shoulder tilt. When the trail shoulder drops below the lead shoulder at contact, the entire swing axis tilts. The bat is now forced to travel upward through the zone. More tilt > steeper attack angle > higher launch angle. Period. Tatis’s attack angle tells the entire story: 2023: +12° attack angle, +1° pull-side direction/25 HRs 2024 : +10° attack angle. -2° oppo direction 21HRs in 104 games 2025: +8° attack angle, 0° direction/25 HRs, healthy 2026: +5° attack angle, −5° oppo direction His swing has flattened AND drifted away from his pull side. Both are tilt collapse. That −5° oppo attack direction is the giveaway. When you lose tilt, your bat doesn’t just flatten it also gets steered toward the opposite field, because a level swing naturally pushes the barrel away from your pull side. He’s not late. He’s not under-striding. His axis collapsed Over the last few years and it’s worse than ever this year. This explains the 20% pull air rate too. Pulling the ball in the air requires positive attack angle AND a contact point out front. (Ramon Laureanos 2025 attack Angle was +14) If you tinker with timing on a flat swing, an earlier contact point just produces a pull-side grounder. The direction changes. The launch angle does not. Let me break it down for you: Stride > Weight Shift > Hip Rotation >TILT > ATTACK ANGLE > BAT PATH > Contact > Launch Angle Stride is four steps upstream. Tilt is the gate. Attack angle is the output that actually moves the ball. So now we know what’s wrong, how do we fix him? Souza and the Padres staff need to focus on the following; 1.Restore 8–12° rear-high shoulder tilt 2.Get attack angle back to +10° to +12° with neutral or +1° pull direction 3.THEN evaluate timing tweaks 4. If someone is telling him to flatten out his swing or to let the ball travel more PLEASE STOP DOING THAT. That doesn’t work for him You cannot time your way to elevation. Fix the tilt. Attack angle returns. Pull air follows. Please watch the video to see how his swing has gotten worse and flatter. We only have bat path data starting in 2023
