I love finding artists that are really giving a lot of thought to how they are creating their art with AI and why. The most interesting way to think about AI art works I´ve come across lately is from Jason Handshsu: "I've been teaching a class on technology and it's forced me to really examine the topics at hand. Reading essays by established art historians in the late 1800's condemning photography as incapable of contributing to the knowledge of art, even 50 years after its invention, really highlights how easy it is for people to misidentify fundamentally what something can do. A lot of those interpretations in the past didn't recognize, at the heart of photography was the capturing of light, and that the exploration of photography inherently relies on modeling the behavior of light. With machine learning, what it captures is concepts. So in order to explore image generation, it requires a person to model the conceptual space of language and images". This idea is one step closer to finding the "what is this tool doing". Very excited to be collaborating with him for The present and future is pretty exciting.

#WATCH | Delhi: On the sidelines of the World Sustainable Development Summit (WSDS) 2026, Dr Muaviyath Mohamed, Minister of State within the Ministry of Tourism and Environment in the Maldives, says, "At this summit, there are a lot of heads of state, ministers, and high-level officials from different countries and multinational organisations. So this is a good opportunity to talk with delegations of people from other parts of the world who are having similar issues and taking our concerns to authorities or at the multilateral level, so that we can get solutions to our issues, particularly because these are trans-boundary and multinational issues that we have to find solutions to in cooperation with other countries and other multinational organisations. This is a good opportunity to network and work together with other people and institutions with similar issues." He adds, "Here I'll be meeting the Indian counterpart at other institutions as well. Because we are having similar issues in some areas... We have been working on environmental and sustainable development... We have to work together with our counterparts, countries, and organisations so that we can achieve our aims and goals. In that context, India and the Maldives have been working on similar projects for a long time. India has been a reliable partner. India has the technological advances, and for us, the capacity building, knowledge transfer, and technology transfer we could get from India. India is always helpful in looking for these opportunities so that we can get solutions to our issues."

“I think AI is a Trojan horse that everybody knows the Greeks are inside.” That was Christopher Nolan, taking on the role of Cassandra in responding to a question about whether AI might be — like the ploy that Odysseus used — a seemingly welcome gift that once inside our lives turns into something catastrophic. “I’ve never seen a technology advancing so rapidly, so completely rejected by the public,” Nolan said, advising “a very healthy skepticism, because technology is always going to give us great gifts…but it has to be viewed with skepticism.” Sure, skepticism about new technology (or any gifts that show up at your door without a tracking number) is healthy. But our focus shouldn’t be only on the technology. Whether AI turns into a Trojan horse or not will depend on what we do. What’s missing from our version of the narrative is the need to invest not just in machines but in people. If AI is ultimately going to be a true gift, we need to pour as much attention and as many resources into building our humanity as we are into building AI. People will need to co-evolve along with the technology, and they’ll need all the help they can get. 3 years ago Refik Anadol & Efsun, together with the royal family of the forest, the Yawanawa, dreamed of a project that could share the crossover of traditional indigenous art with futuristic pigments of AI. They dreamed of building a community to not only host their family, but also bring together their indigenous brothers and sisters from around the world. Aldeia Sagrada was reimagined. We 1OF1 are very honoured & deeply grateful that Refik Anadol & the Yawanawa family have chosen us to be the steward of their historic collaborative art work, the Winds of Yawanawa 1of1. Last week my family & I had the privilege to join Indigenous Nations from across the Amazon basin & around the world as they came together for a truly historic & deeply beautiful moment at the Indigenous Ayahuasca Conference in Acre, Brasil, where Indigenous leaders shared their ancient wisdom, beautiful art & wonderful energy with each other. As someone who has built infra in Brazil, I can confirm that what Refik Anadol and the Yawanawa family have built in Aldeia Sagrada is absolutely breathtaking & indescribable. The infrastructure & organization of their wonderful community is incredible. They have proven to the world a model for synergistic alliances between traditional Indigenous nations with new technologists, creatives and builders that can both massively support these native communities as well as celebrate the preservation of their way of life. I found myself overwhelmed with emotion at points throughout the week witnessing how amazing this place and these people are. It is with all of the lessons of 1OF1’s global tours in hand & our hearts filled with a deep sense of mission, that we commit to share this iconic work of art with the world in conversation with other works of Amazonian indigenous art. We promise to share the inspiring message of the Yawanawa across the globe through the power of art.
