When I first got a job as a diesel tech, the same as when I was in automotive, dudes would make fun of me for being “safe” all of the time, such as using a cage and setting the car on the lift locks. You got to be an absolute idiot not to when it means your life, or an eye or ear if that tire blows in your face. Good job man. I quit 2 jobs because I refused to take the harassment at work. Both were directly from my boss. A measly $10,000 life insurance policy isn’t enough for the exchange of my own self-respect and dignity not to mention my life. These are people who love their own misery, hate their lives at the end of the day, and take it to work with them everyday just to make other peoples lives miserable. I learned on the job how to be more cautious because I want to keep both my hands all of my fingers, and both of my eyes, and I learned in school, the importance of safety.

Safety is always a high priority with me. I know shortcuts and such to make the job faster, less hard on your body. But never at the cost of putting my life in danger
