I truly wish California had a leader like Florida Governor Ron DeSantis. This video is from when DeSantis made the decision to employ as many truck drivers as possible to clear massive amounts of debris from Hurricane Helene in preparation for the impending Category 4 winds of Hurricane Milton. It was quick thinking. It was intuitive. It was strategic. He basically said, “I’m going to do whatever I can to save Floridians, the people I govern.” I know DeSantis would have and could have done a better job governing California through this wildfire crisis because he would have planned better and reacted differently. It is a tragedy that Newsom failed Californians the way he did.
