Uh, he's right. The district I work for has that policy: "All cell phones and electronic devices must be stored out of sight while in the classroom. The unauthorized use or operation of cell phone or other electronic device will result in confiscation."

No thanks. If I had children in school, I would want that they have a cell phone in case of emergency...such as the school shooting that occurred again today.
